Posted November 14, 200619 yr The seasonal compilations battle continues apace this week, with George Michael’s Twenty Five (Aegean) threatening to topple Jamiroquai’s High Times from the chart summit, beating Sugababes’ Overloaded (Island) in the process. The singer’s fourth greatest hits collection to date, Twenty Five, is comfortably outselling all comers in an album chart that sees a possible 13 new entries this week, according to early retail reports. Vying for top 20 debuts are Tenacious D (Epic), All Angels (UCJ), The Game (Geffen), Yusuf (Polydor), Andy Abraham (Sony BMG) and Depeche Mode’s The Best Of Vol. 1 (Mute). In the singles market, barely a hundred sales separate the top two positions, with Westlife’s The Rose currently holding on at the top despite a strong challenge from Akon feat. Eminem’s Smack That (Universal). Justin Timberlake’ rises to three with My Love (Jive), while Robbie Williams’ Lovelight (Chrysalis) climbs to number eight. Other high risers come from Christina Aguilera (RCA), Snow Patrol feat. Martha Wainwright and the Maccabees’ First Love (both Fiction), the only genuine possible new entry to the Top 40 this week. ==================================================================== Singles 01 Westlife - The Rose  6.5k 02 Akon feat. November 14, 200619 yr Author Westlife only usually have one week at No.1 don't they??? They should hopefully be off this week hopefully crash and burn, I don't expect them to retain it personally, for a 4th week on a trot its another awful #1, why are people buying these awful records.
November 14, 200619 yr Author Expect U2 and Green Day to plummet, it was only available for one week only
November 14, 200619 yr Akon or Justin will be number 1 I think, I prefer the latter but I cant help thinking that maybe Akon will get there
November 14, 200619 yr Unless there's a miracle in which All Saints or Sugababes climb to #1 whoever triumphs is going to make it a $h!t chart AGAIN :puke:
