Linkin Park I think just split up....

But in general, I think people just got fed up of these rather overhyped bands.... Unlike the likes of Korn, Detfones, SOAD, etc, they didn't really have what it took to stay the course...

  • 5 weeks later...

One of sum 41 married avril lavigne didn't they?

And...I don't know what happened to the rest of them. A band with such an ill thought out name as 'A' does not deserve to still be around anyway.

Alien Ant Farm

Wern't they just like a one hit wonder? I can only renember Smooth Criminal which I LOVED

I don't know what else they did...

Certainly nothing worth mentioning.... -_-

Imagine being in a band and pretty much your sole contribution is a cover of a Wacko Jacko song.... Laughable really innit...? Makes you pretty much the Nu Metal equivalent of Gareth Gates dunnit....?

All this info is from Wikipedia, so take it with a pinch of salt:

A- Jason Perry (vocalist) is working with Matt Willis  . Adam Perry (drummer) may be joining Bloodhound Gang, Daniel P. Carter (bass guitarist) is rumoured to become the host of Radio One's Rock Show.

Alien Ant Farm- Tye Zamora (bass guitarist) left in April to go to college, and has been replaced by Alex Barretto. They have released two albums since ANThology, and, oddly enough, a DVD called BUSted.

Sum 41- They had a couple of albums since All Killer No Filler (called Does This Look Infected and Chuck), which did OK-ish in the US and well in their native Canada. Dave Baksh (lead guitarist) quit in May, they'll be hiring a session guitarist to replace him, but he won't officially be in the band. Jason McCaslin (bass guitarist) is starting a side-project with Juliette Lewis. Deryck Whibley (vocalist) married Avril Lavigne in July this year and will be working on her next album.

Wheatus- The line-up has changed many, many times. Brendan B. Brown (lead singer) is the only original member of the band still left in it.

OPM-Matthew Meschery, who was the lead singer, main songwriter and provided most of the music, quit after the first album and now is a DJ on an American radio station. The rest have released a couple of albums since.

Linkin Park- Said to be releasing their third studio album in early 2007. They say it "definitely isn't nu-metal".

Unkle Kraker- Released an album in 2004. Rumoured to be releasing a new album next year.

Sum41 are a great band, my favourite infact, some of the songs on Chuck where brilliant, its a shame they don't get much publicity or advertisment when they release new albums and singles though.

The Movies. I don't know what else they did...

you can buy their dvd with all of their hits on it

Uncle Kracker - last heard working with 'scissor sisters tribute act' leo sayer on a record called happy hour.

i absolutely loved linkin park but jay z destroyed their music for me
  • 2 weeks later...

Hey everyone, new to this forum and what a post to debut on

as far as I know

Wheatus are on tour in the UK as of February, hitting most Academys and universities venues supporting Bowling for soup and Son of Dork....

OPM are touring the UK also in Feb, but as someone already mentioned, its not the same band anymore......

Good to see Linkin' Park are back soon, but they've not been away that long because Collision Course was released in about 2004 I think

AAF waited too long to release their second album and it flopped

Movies is a tune though, has to be said

i absolutely loved linkin park but jay z destroyed their music for me

I totally agree, when i heard 'Numb/encore' i was disgusted because imo 'Numb' is the best LP song. It'll be good if LP do come back because i really used to like them alot. Which reminds me, i need to invest in a new copy of 'Hybrid Theory'...
