MICHAEL JACKSON IN LONDON AHEAD OF STAGE COMEBACKSEND TO A FRIEND14 NOVEMBER

Michael, who has maintained a low profile over the last 12 months, was all smiles as he arrived at his hotel in Bayswater in a limo. On Wednesday the singer will give his first live performance in Britain since 1997

Reclusive pop star Michael Jackson has arrived in London for his first live UK performance in nearly a decade. The headline-friendly star, who has been keeping a very low profile since being acquitted of child abuse charges last year, is to make his stage comeback at the World Music Awards on Wednesday night.

The 48-year-old caused quite a stir when he swept into the Hempel Hotel in Bayswater with his three children, Paris, Prince Michael and Prince Michael II. A team of burly minders escorted the singer, who was wearing a black leather jacket and his trademark aviator shades, into the upmarket venue.

The performer, who's sold over 100 million albums in the course of his career, has spent the last 12 months living in virtual anonymity in Bahrain and Ireland. He'll be very much back in the spotlight, however, when he struts his stuff in Earls Court.

Actually it more like 200 million :smoke:

Hope his performance will be great. His looks kinda scare me to be honest.

OMG, my brother has just told me that it was on MTV that he did'nt perform at all  Apperently he accepted the award and said it was all a rumour about him performing :arrr:

Please make this not be true :(

No wait. it was just on Sky news. It showed him arrive and he was on the red carpet answering questions from the media and said it was the media who made it all up and he was only there to recieve his award.

But the source on Sky news has said it's apperently a plan by Jacko to suprise people. Hopefully true :D

well i hope he does suprise us all. beucse it will be really good for him to preform. :D

haha, I think it'd have been better if he ahdnt by the sounds of it -_-

On November 15, 2006, Michael Jackson received the Diamond Award at the World Music Awards, his second public appearance at an awards show since the trial of 2005.[84] Despite substantial advance publicity[85][86][87], he did not perform "Thriller", limiting his performance to "one verse and one chorus" of "We are the World".[88] Wire-service coverage of the event noted that Jackson "looked uncomfortable at times" and called the appearance "an unhappy return to the London stage.

HE'S BAD: JACKO BOOED OFF STAGE

By Tom Bryant

MICHAEL Jackson walked off stage to a chorus of boos last night just four lines into his first UK performance for nine years.

The troubled star had picked up a gong at the World Music Awards in London minutes before his embarrassing comeback.

But after singing only the chorus to his charity single We Are The World he stopped repeatedly to tell the stunned audience: "I love you, I love you."

Jackson, rarely seen in public since he was cleared of child-abuse charges last year, was on stage with a kids' choir.

The crowd, expecting a proper version of his song, booed the star who then scuttled off stage.

An onlooker said: "This was supposed to be the great return of the King of Pop but it ended up an absolute utter shambles."

Jackson, 48, was just four lines into his charity song We Are The World when his voice began to crack and falter.

Looking bemused, he stopped singing and started rambling to the stunned audience at the World Music Awards last night: "I love you, I love you."

Jacko's fans - who had been looking forward to his first UK performance for nine years - began to boo and stamp their feet. The shaken star shuffled off stage as the din increased.

One onlooker said: "This was supposed to be the great return of the King of Pop but it ended up a shambles.

"He must have performed to bigger crowds than that thousands of times but he seemed overawed and petrified.

"When he stopped singing no one could understand why. But when he started rambling a lot of people lost their patience with him. That's when the booing started and got louder and louder until he left the stage."

Jacko - who was on stage with a children's choir - had earlier picked up a Diamond Award for selling more than 100 million albums in his career.

But his farcical performance, which cost £250,000, left the show's organisers angry and embarrassed after they had spent over an hour convincing him to go on stage.

Oh dear :o

And performing with a children's choir? A touch insensitive don't you think?

I know. I think everything he does is insensitive lately. He does'nt seem to even have a manager/record company to give him advice :(

He would've been better of not performing at all cause if you ask me, his creadibility as a breathtaking performer was all he had left and now this :(

I Feel really sorry for him too :(

This is added more pressure on his comeback now -_-

And Also In His Defence... He Didn't Plan It.. It Was Practically Moments Before The Show To Start... Well Thats What I Heard

Yes i heard that, they only asked him to perform, an hour before he actually did -_-
