England were c**p again. Why didn't Defoe play instead of Johnson? He was useless!

Carrick was $h!te as well.

The commentators were saying England were far better ... Holland dominated, althogh they didn't have many chances.

Holland had posession but did nothing with it. They were worse than us, they gave the ball away more often, never created anything and never seemed to want to go past us. I think I'd be feeling worse if I were Dutch than I am now.

Well yeah like its already been pointed out we were pretty $h!t.

Hargy best come back soo as Carrick really is useless.

Yeah, Lampard was $h!te too. A Lennon/Gerrard/Hargreaves/Cole midfield is what we need but it won't happen.

England have just gone sideways since the days of Sven, no improvement at all, ok it just a friendly but very uninspiring display

I disagree, they have gone backwards, as they no longer possess (thanks to the idiot of a manager) a decent right-winger, who is great at free kicks & crosses.

Precisley. I doubt McLaren would drop Lampard though. :(

Gerrards way to versatile for his own good, and he needs to play in centeral midfield again to get the best out of him.

Yes Beckham should be in the team, he was the best England player in the world cup by far in terms of assists and should never have been dropped, that must be reversed immediately

Is he playing for Madrid yet? Whilst he isn't there is nothing anyone can do because McLaren has a (part)valid excuse. -_-

Yeah but McLaren has been selecting players in the squad like SWP who has played even less for Chelsea than Beckham has for Madrid over the last few months and Walcott to the WC while Asst manager who had never played for Arsenal then there are players like Rooney and Owen who had not played a competitive game for ages pre world cup

Beckham is still in excellent physical shape and despite his lack of games recently I think would do fine

I think thats a very valid point you've made, but I think Beckham himself has had a hand in not being selected as of late.

I don't really know what he was thinking when he resigned as captain; i'm guessing he thought England would win the World Cup and then in the blaze of glory he would step down, but its certainley done him no favours.

I just can't see him playing for England again without the England captiancy.

I still think Lampard needs to be dropped and then Gerrard can take his position and then Lennon can become Englands new right winger.

And if we were playing a better team we still would have lost, I don't think McClaren will last long to be honest.

The only manager that could turn England round, that I can think of is Arsene Wenger, I believe his contract is up for renewal next year, and I'm not sure if he is going to renew.

We had our chance to appoint a decent manager but no! O'Neill went to Villa and Hiddink is at Russia. Whoever we were to replace McLaren with if he went probably isn't going to be good enough but would certainly be an improvement. Next two games are Israel and Andorra both away. I'll give him those but if we fail to take 6 points then he SHOULD be sacked!
Israel are playing well at the moment considering its a home game for them, I don't think England stand a chance against them, they be lucky if they get a point out of it.

Even as a Spurs fan I don't think Lennon is ready yet for the right winger role, he has great pace and flair and is a delight to watch but his end product particularly with regards crossing is still a long way from the finished article, Lennon is a great showman but is just as likely to hit Row Z with a cross as he is a striker's head, Beckham delivered crosses with pinpoint accuracy which is something Lennon can't do atm

Gerrard should be in the centre he is wasted on the right and I agree about Lampard

Wenger is a great tactician and I think too that he would be a success as England manager

McClaren just like Sven is scared to leave out one of the over hyped layers out of his midfield. That showed yesterday and with his squad selection. Irony is, Beckham is playing better than Lamps and Gerrard are domestically when he does actually get on the pitch at the Bernabeu

When was the last time Lampard had a really good game for England, and not a deflected goal -_-

When was the last time ENGLAND had a good, competitive game? The last really convincing performance was Croatia in Euro 2004. Ever since then we've been distinctly average or played well against no-hopers (andorra,)

Meh... I started watching the highlights when I got home last night, but got bored and turned it off after about 10-15 minutes

Another boring England game :(
