Just looking at Spotify, last week she got 3.2 million - so she'll need to get 4 minion wish this week for a reset but she's heading for around 3 million at this point

I think it'll be by far the biggest song for NYE playlists but I still think it'll only get about 650k-700k which won't be enough

I'm cautiously optimistic that Tones isn't going to get the reset after all. She is down a fair bit on where she was this time last week despite the Christmas songs having cleared out - will quite likely end the week with an overall increase but really not sure if it'll quite be the 25% increase necessary? Probably shouldn't get my hopes up tho xx

 

D-Block Europe's songs have collapsed a lot harder than I'd have predicted, down to only two songs in the top 100 already. I haven't heard any of the new songs to be fair but just on principle I'm really hoping they'll miss the top 10 lol, the first new top 10 hit of the 2020s being by D-Block Europe would be a cursed omen ~ Pretty big drops for the JACKBOYS songs as well. Hoping 'GANG GANG' will still do enough to be top 40 this week, that and 'WHAT TO DO?' are both good standouts from the EP (not really caring for the rest of it beyond the HITR remix which I think is pretty good although I think I still prefer the original).

I'd imagine overexposure is the problem for D Block, this is their third album/mixtape this year. And hopefully it'll be their downfall!

It seems pretty clear now that Spotify is losing a fairly substantial amount of market share. I wish the other streaming platforms actually released any numbers so they were a little easier to follow... (although even without the numbers I'm increasingly trying to pay more attention to what's going on on Apple Music since at least the positions there are easily accessible on Kworb)

Yes there seems to be 3 major ones now which means the charts are a little less predictable, but at least we don't have one service having a monopoly on the charts anymore.

If someone would like to start Apple and Amazon Music threads for 2020 they'd be most welcome to. Spotify updates take me long enough to do so updates for the other 2 are free to be taken.

Could just rename this thread to Spotify & Apple Music for the new year, I've been occasionally posting positions from Apple in this thread for a little while anyway. I don't know if there's really any need for them to be separate threads.

Yeh def not, the iTunes thread is dying a death a bit as well.

I think it might make more sense to combine iTunes with Apple Music personally as they're part of the same brand (if we don't want to give AM its own).

As for Amazon their chart get so little discussion it can be lumped in with the Spotify thread.

Yeh true, always find iTunes still interesting as most No1s are official No1s still.

Christmas is now well and truly over!

Tomorrow's update should be interesting with it being NYE. 'Bad Guy' is song #1 on Spotify's NYE playlist so expect that in particular to get a massive boost, alongside other big hits of the year and a few old songs too.

Yay for 'The Box' cracking the top 40 today!

 

'Dance Monkey' is not featured on that Spotify NYE playlist so hopefully that's another good sign it's not going to be getting a reset xx (it's still down on its numbers from a week ago atm). A lot of the songs high up on that playlist are pretty old - Justin Timberlake's 'Señorita' as song 2? Why? :lol:

Is there usually a big influx of random hits on the NYE Spotify list? I can't seem to remember them previously.
