The fireworks have always had good ratings for its timeslot, I'm surprised they haven't picked it up for a series yet!

BBC have missed a trick not having Fireworks into EastEnders at 00:10 to boost the ratings :o

10.75m for the New Year broadcast between 00:00 to 00:10 on BBC One last night - that's down around 0.5m from last year but pretty decent all things considered.

Graham Norton did very well - around 1m higher than normal I think? I can't recall his NYE show going higher than around 4.3m in recent years.

 

Given the overnights have been fairly low all round despite more people being at home, I wonder if catch up will be better? Or if linear TV has just lost viewers for good.

I think iPlayer has been very strong since the last lockdown? In August it was reported that programme "requests" had been up 47% on 2019.

 

It's all about the content really: if the stuff people want is there, they will watch.
