I personally know him more cos he's a celeb than for his singing, from being married to Nicole Kidman

they're everywhere together even in talk shows like Graham Norton

any of those has broken any records already?

Dance Monkey

-Most #1 weeks: 24

-Most top 10 weeks: 41

-Most top 20 weeks: 52

-Most weeks as #1 Australian single: honestly I lost count a long time ago but it's a lot

Someone You Loved

-Most top 30 weeks: 76 and counting

-Most consecutive top 50 weeks: 79 and counting

-Most top 50 weeks: next week

Dance Monkey will also likely be the #2 End Of Year single for the 2nd year in a row (unless "Roses" overtakes it, hard to call). Prior to this, "Perfect"'s #3 + #4 in 2017/2018 was the best back to back performance.

thanks! most of those long-running records would not count if there was no covid19 pandemia I suppose

In accordance with the 6 week rule, we have a new #1 this week, as "Mood" inertias its way to #1 despite having peaked 2 weeks ago on streams. This would suggest it doesn't have long to hang around but there's nothing waiting in the horizon to take over so, I guess we'll see how long it can last. Last week was the first week this year that neither "Blinding Lights" nor "Roses" were in the top 10, so "Roses" is back to amend that, also bringing along Tate McRae for her first top 10 hit. Being born in 2003, I suspect she is the currently youngest artist to have a top 10 hit. The added remix allows "Ain't It Different" to climb into the top 20, the first time in there for all related artists, and as expected, Ritt Momney takes "Put Your Records On" higher than the original ever got here, now in the top 20. It being in the top 20 this week may be worth scrutinising, as in classic ARIA fashion, Pop Smoke's "What You Know Bout Love" is not being acknowledged and it could potentially be in the top 20, I don't think it's even being counted to the album's streams which is just swell work. Travis Scott has the highest new entry though it's a bit low by his standards, most noteworthy now for giving M.I.A. her 2nd top 50 hit after her Madonna collaboration. "Paper Planes" egregiously only peaked at #66 with a very long, drawn out chart run, but it might be argued that it was actually first popular in Australia. triple j flogged it in late 2007 and it got voted into the top 20 songs for that year, possibly contributing to an early start on its crawl through promotions into the chart. Speaking of egregious chart underperformances, Fleetwood Mac return to the top 50 with "Dreams", which originally peaked at #19 in the late '70s. Fleetwood Mac currently have the longest charting album ever on the album chart with one of their 2 popular hits collections (though the streaming set up is hampering it from accumulating more), but they only have 1 top 10 hit in their entire career, #3 peaking "Tusk". I don't think "Dreams" has the legs to get there now, but there's a strong chance it will score a new peak next week as it flies high on all platforms. "Dreams" is also actually a streaming stalwart here, taking up near permanent residence in the Spotify top 200 since 2018. ARIA haven't been tracking it until now but it's possible that it could've been close to the top 100 on its own accord earlier this year, which also means that it's possible that it will hit an equilibrium before it's actually able to exit the charts, we'll see. Sam Smith breaks a run of every single performing a bit worse than the previous one, as "Diamonds" gets into the top 50 which "My Oasis" never managed. salem ilese also scores her first top 50 hit this week, though the song is lamentably not quite as anti-capitalist as one might hope.

Last year, ARIA discovered that Joji is half-Australian. I don't know if most people are even aware, but Australia is the only country that I'm aware has sent "Nectar" to #1 so there might be something in it. This isn't his first foray with impacting the #1 spot in Australia, as he was notably the catalyst to the popularity of "Harlem Shake" in 2013, which when ARIA allowed it on the chart, debuted at #1, notably the 1,000th song to reach #1, preventing Macklemore from otherwise having the honour. Australia does not yet have 1,000 #1 albums so maybe in a few years he'll have a chance to influence that. He beats out Machine Gun Kelly who nonetheless is far exceeding his batting average as his first ever top 20 berth lands at #2. Deftones snuck in a surprise #1 album in 2016, but with a bit more competition, land at #3, now securing every peak from #1-#4 with their 4 top 10 albums. Australian metalcore band Alphawolf also score their first top 10 album with their 2nd at #6. IDLES on the other hand have never charted before, but their 3rd album takes them to #7. Sufjan Stevens scored his first top 50 album in 2015, but his follow up doesn't quite match the #11 peak from then to land at #32. Sneaking into the top 50 is a Greatest Hits set from Helen Reddy who passed away last week, right near the end of the ARIA tracking week, so this peak probably isn't doing her a good justice. Next week we have Queen, Bon Jovi, BLACKPINK, Corey Taylor, Roisin Murphy, something for everyone.

Yay for 'Ain't It Different' hitting the top 20, I guess the ONEFOUR remix must have helped! (Assuming ARIA are competent enough to have combined it x)

Also woo for Joji getting a #1 somewhere! I was vaguely aware of him having some Australian heritage ~

"Mood" takes the 2nd week at #1, still well ahead of any competition. It's one of those exciting top 5 weeks where the only movement is a rebound from a BTS remix of a remix, and I'll see you on the other side. Something that is moderately interesting is that for the first time ever, Jason Derulo has two songs in the top 10 at the same time. Three times in the past, he's had a simultaneous switch of old and new, notably the tenures of "Whatcha Say" through to "Ridin' Solo". I have no idea if the "Lemonade" remix has been considered but it never cracked the Spotify chart here so I'm not sure if it did much of anything. Speaking of chart accuracies, Pop Smoke's new single smashes instantly into the chart at #11. Shawn Mendes returns to the chart with his first entry since "Senorita", just ahead of the new peak for Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams", which now looks very likely to crack the top 10 next week. Elsewhere we have a bunch of BLACKPINK entries, while 21 Savage finally scores his first ever lead artist top 50 entry, after "Bank Account" and "a lot" both got very close. I suppose I should also mention that "Someone You Loved" breaks the record for longest running top 50 hit with 81 weeks, ahead of "Shape Of You" and "Perfect", I guess it's appropriate that people don't know how to move on.

If you think you were born in the wrong generation, then maybe you should re-assess that because Queen have scored 2 #1 albums in the past 2 years, more than the 1 they had in their first 45 years as a band. It's also a first for Adam Lambert, following a consistent run of 4 top 10 albums. They lead a crowded field pushing ahead of BLACKPINK's first album at #2. Bon Jovi are quite prone to taking the #1 spot, but landing at #3 they score their worst peak since 2002's "Bounce". 21 Savage easily scores his highest charting album at #4, though like J. Cole before him, one must wonder how his last album would have done if he didn't release it at the end of December. Slipknot's last 3 albums have gone to #1, and following that we have a first solo album from Corey Taylor at #8. Unlucky to be left out of the top 10 with this much competition is Bryson Tiller, though he does improve 1 place on his previous #12 peak in 2017. It's also weirdly the 2nd time now that a US hip-hop album has sampled Owl Eyes' vocals from Flight Facilities' (of my avatar and various other things fame) "Heart Attack", which Meek Mill also did in 2015, 3 decades of relevance. Because it's a year beginning in 2, there are two more King Gizzard live albums entering the chart. The culmination of weeks upon weeks of me typing up release schedules with Mariah Carey rarities results in the eventual album in the top 20, just ahead of an EP from Angie McMahon, who scored a top 5 album last year. Hilltop Hoods are releasing a bunch of instrumental versions of their albums in the near future, which oddly is beginning with their 2009 album "State Of The Art". No solo Spice Girls album has entered the top 50 in this century, until just now with Mel C's self-titled album. Cosmo's Midnight fall just a little short of their previous album's #36 peak. Next week will pit Chillinit and Headie One against each other for highest debut, and it's possible Pop Smoke will return to #1.

3 weeks running for "Mood" now. It's unassailable on Spotify but it's losing 10K plays a day and has been for a while, so it's setting up an easy takeover when one can arrive. It'd be amusing to me if "Head & Heart" got there on inertia given that's how "Mood" got there. It's a chance to take #2 next week, as is tbh, "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac, which now becomes the group's 2nd ever top 10 hit, at #4 making it just shy of otherwise underrated banger "Tusk". Making a move on Spotify is Pop Smoke, whose "What You Know Bout Love" is now up to #2 there, but as usual, sales are holding it back so he'd need to get to #1 there to even pose a mild threat overall. Meanwhile, I am fairly outspoken about my frustration in ARIA's compiling of the weekly chart, but one thing I can give them credit for is that whenever a remix is released, they're usually pretty good about correctly combining them, save for a brief time around 2009-2012 when a few remixes charted separately. However, they're also very bad at crediting, with this week revealing fascinating insight into the process. As you probably know, Dua Lipa released an album this year. Upon release, she probably should have gotten a handful of chart entries, but instead only "Break My Heart" was allowed to debut. This had happened just the previous week with The Weeknd, and I don't think it has again since. More recently, a remix album was released, including a new version of "Levitating" with Missy Elliott, and Madonna, both the Blessed and unblessed kinds. This didn't make a huge splash, but I suspect it made ARIA's top 500, which I believe to be the limit of what they track on a weekly basis. ARIA have a system where they continue tracking songs after they leave the top 500 for a certain period of time, before culling them and requiring a new request to be let on the chart. Whatever this time period was, it was recent enough that this "Levitating" remix was still on their books, so when another remix, with DaBaby was released, it was just casually added onto the previous remix. It wasn't a smash out the gate so it's not noteworthy on its own, right? I have no idea how often ARIA even audit their data but the point is that we've arrived at a situation where the previous remix is being attributed with a top 50 entry that's almost entirely due to the new one. We arrive at a unique situation where Madonna technically is the second artist to have top 50 hits in 5 decades (I think Elton John is the only artist to properly do it, but you could also make technicalities for John Lennon & Paul McCartney), where this entry is roughly as much hers as "Shape Of You" is a Stormzy song. It's also amazingly the 3rd time that DaBaby has been left off a top 50 credit in the space of about a year. We'll see if they'll fix this in the future but they also went so far as to tweet about the new entry with Madonna & Missy Elliott both @'d. Either way there's not really much else to talk about, is there?

Something that is mighty interesting is our new #1, which I did know about last week but didn't register as a contender at all. Linkin Park in their prime managed 2 #1 albums, first a single week for "Minutes To Midnight" in 2007, then perhaps surprisingly, 4 straight weeks at #1 for the more divisive but probably better "A Thousand Suns" in 2010, admittedly with low competition, and coming just a week before Bring Me The Horizon set the new benchmark for low #1 sales of 3600, which nowadays would be seen as a respectable figure. Outside of these two albums, Linkin Park have been notoriously unlucky with their release dates. The follow up "Living Things" released the same week as The Voice Australia winner Karise Eden's album, which absolutely blitzed in the sales department, they probably couldn't even beat her 3rd week. "Meteora" was released the same week as Delta Goodrem's "Innocent Eyes", which would go on to spend 29 of those first 43 weeks on the chart at #1. "Hybrid Theory" did not chart when it first released, only limping into the top 50 at the very end of 2000. The success of "One Step Closer" and "Crawling" made it a big hit, but it would be a year later as "In The End" rocketed up the charts that it would spend 3 of its 4 weeks at #2, stuck behind Jamiroquai. The 4th week came much later, in 2017 when Chester Bennington passed away, which saw the album at the #2 spot again, behind the unassuming new arrival of Lana Del Rey's 4th straight #1 album. Nonetheless, chart justice has been served as Linkin Park's debut album finally gets its #1 tenure, thanks to a 20th anniversary re-release. They're also kind enough to not block anyone, as it would otherwise just be Queen retaining the top spot. The next highest debut is at #3 from Chillinit, who quickly has followed up his #2 peaking album from earlier this year. Headie One also makes an impressive entry given that he's still a fresh face to Australian audiences. Fleetwood Mac also return with their "Greatest Hits" set which is a sad reminder that the longest charting album ever, which is actually "The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac", may never return to the chart as it lost the lottery of 'Where do the singles not from "Rumours" take their chart points to?" It would seem that The Very Best from INXS is primed to eventually take the throne, which is impressive given that it was released in 2011. Next week's #1 spot is almost certainly Guy Sebastian's for the taking.

"Mood" now notches up a 4th week, though it has declined 5 weeks in a row on Spotify. That looks like it'll catch up to it this week, not because of the prior competition, but because it's caught up in an Ariana Grande release week. If it were as high as it were 5 weeks, I'd think it's a safer pick for #1, but as it stands, "positions" might get a free ride to #1, mostly thanks to the sales gap because streaming is pretty close. It's lucky times for "Head & Heart" which manages to sneak a #2 peak in the in-between week. Ritt Momney also gets into the top 10 and I don't have much to say about that. Justin Bieber scores a top 20 debut though it doesn't look like he'll be getting especially higher. After spending quite a bit of time detailing the nonsense around "Levitating". Anyway this week ARIA just removed all the credits from it.

Aside from outing himself as the only musician who wants to help Scott Morrison with a publicity campaign, 2020 is the year that Guy Sebastian scores his 3rd #1 album. As with most Sony signed pop artists, this has been a reasonably long time coming requiring a years long campaign of varying sized hits and human interest prime time TV segments to make the #1 debut feel especially inevitable once the album finally surfaces. This week's chart's meaning is only derived by how you feel about the relative ratios of different formats. Pop Smoke is of course at #3 just about entirely on streaming, while Skegss are #4 just about entirely on vinyl sales. This is not a new album, but instead a first time issue of the band's first EP from 2015, just before they started getting really popular. Powderfinger also have a big vinyl week for "Odyssey Number Five" which jumps back into the top 10, while their 1996 album "Double Allergic" didn't make the top 50 but has a big boost itself on vinyl. BTS also have an old EP entering the top 50, while The National's Matt Berninger has a solo entry at #32. Next week seems like it'll be a battle between Bruce Springsteen and a deluxe rebound for Luke Combs, while Ball Park Music, Nothing But Thieves, Gorillaz etc are also around.

Ariana Grande's 2020 efforts to debut at #1 have worked quite well in the US but always run into a snag in Australia, until now as "positions" becomes her 4th #1 single. With the exception of "thank u, next" (which is probably due to Australia's complicated lagged reaction to new releases on Spotify), all of them are #1 debuts. It's admittedly helped along by low competition, but much like Iron Maiden's UK #1 hit, it looks likely to take a 2nd week anyway. Australia has long since established itself as a key market for Luke Combs outside of North America, and this week he scores a big top 20 debut with "Forever After All", which follows the EP-aided "Beer Never Broke My Heart" as his 2nd charting entry, but considerably higher and potentially set to hang around. Showing even better future potential is the 3rd entry as The Kid LAROI scores a top 20 debut with "SO DONE". This is his highest lead artist entry, but it's worth noting that his other top 40 hits have both been Juice WRLD collaborations whereas this is a solo cut. It looks to climb next week, and he's also poised to score another top 50 hit next week with his ONEFOUR team up. James Arthur's "Say You Won't Let Go" is a perpetual presence in the Spotify top 100 and has been for the past 4 years, but surprisingly he hadn't had a top 50 hit since then, though "Sun Comes Up", "Rewrite The Stars" and "Falling Like The Stars" gave it a good attempt ("Lasting Lover" is also hanging around right now). He finally breaks this curse with a song from the same 2016 album, "Train Wreck", though it looks to be kicked out of the top 50 next week by Ariana Grande so this could well just be a fluke this week.

For the 3rd time since Bowling For Soup released "1985", Bruce Springsteen has a #1 album in Australia. He'd only done so 2 times before that, whereas Nirvana had 3 #1 albums then and none since. I'm still preoccupied with thinking about this song. Thus, we have yet another local act blocked from the top spot. Ball Park Music released their 6th album last week, and have reached the top 10 with all but their debut. They notably missed out on #1 in 2014 behind an incumbent INXS compilation by one of the smallest margins in history, while this new album breaks their run of diminishing returns to get back to the penultimate position. Speaking of their debut album, it kind of scores a new peak this week as the band have released every single one of their albums on vinyl packaged with their new album, all of which are top 10 on this week's vinyl chart, but just their first two albums make it into the top 50. Outselling them on vinyl is Gorillaz, who score a 5th top 5 album, having only hit the top spot once with "Plastic Beach" in 2010. The #2 vinyl record was another Hilltop Hoods instrumental release, this time moving onto their 2012 album. Nothing But Thieves continue upwards trajectory, and now with their 3rd album score a first top 10. Next week is probably Ariana Grande's for the taking, but with her limited physical release, she could also fall prey to Australian icons Midnight Oil, while Sam Smith, Kate Miller-Heidke, Bring Me The Horizon & Mr. Bungle will be potentially making an impression.

Ariana Grande has a safer route to a 2nd week at #1, making "positions" the only in the last 18 months to spend exactly 2 weeks at #1. I make this statement because I suspect the added remix of "Mood" is what it needs to get pushed back to #1. "Lemonade" finally cracks the top 5 after spending 5 weeks at #6, while Ariana Grande has another top 10 hit in "34+35". About half of the rest of her album also debuts this week which makes up the majority of this week's entries. The one exception is the oddly timed new ONEFOUR single. Their last single was released on the same week as the last big album to impact the top 50, Taylor Swift's "folklore", and thus charted relatively low by their standards. This time they're lucky to land above most of the pack and get their highest ever charter at #28, which is also probably helped by the inclusion of so-hot-right-now The Kid LAROI, who's looking like getting his first top 10 hit next week as "SO DONE" is showing serious streaming momentum. Oh and there's some Harry Styles song that came out a year ago that we're being told to listen to now or something.

If you're from the UK, you might recognise Midnight Oil for their brief flitter of alt rock international crossover success in the late '80s & early '90s, notably with their song about systemic racism against Indigenous Australians for whom many Australians are old enough to remember a time when the government did not even consider them as people. Nowadays of course our government will, during NAIDOC Week, vote against a measure to hang up the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander flags (which are recognised as official Australian flags) in parliament house. Anyway, as is often the case for Australian bands known largely for one song overseas, they have an immensely storied career which also includes the first ever #1 debut on the Australian singles chart, their "Species Deceases" EP in 1985. The band had until now, released their last album in 2002, after which, Peter Garrett even had a stint in government as Australia's environmental minister. This new album is in solidarity and union with Australia's First Nations people hence the title which is a Yolngu word for conflict resolution, and features collaborations from the likes of Jessica Mauboy, the late Gurrumul and even Australian footballer Adam Goodes. This is the band's 5th #1 album, and in due process, prevents Ariana Grande from getting her 5th as it seems her staggered rush release couldn't quite bring in the numbers. She'll be without much of a chance to get there in the future either unless she's still going strong in January. Sam Smith is developing a pattern of #1->#2->#3 album peaks, the previous one being unluckily released within 4 weeks of a P!nk album, though it's also interesting that "The Thrill Of It All" had only 1 top 40 hit on it (a #1 hit of course), whereas this new album so far has 6 of them. Australia has a long history of being a big market for anything relating to Mike Patton, to the extent that Faith No More have two #1 singles here. Another of his bands, Mr. Bungle recent reunited and re-recorded their 1986 demo which gives them their highest ever chart position here at #6. Speaking of bands who are especially popular in Australia, Bring Me The Horizon have 4 #1 albums here. Their new EP also suffers from Ariana Grande's problem of a stilted release so #7 is perhaps still respectable. Next is another up and coming Australian hip hop group in Triple One, whose rock-infused sound reminds me a bit of Butterfingers, not least of which because one of their most popular songs is called "Butter". Kate Miller-Heidke scores her 4th top 10 album, having not put out a proper album in 6 years, at #9 which is lower than usual for her but it is a busy week. Troye Sivan is also back in the top 10 thanks to a vinyl release, selling more vinyl than Midnight Oil even this week. Lower down, the latest triple j Like A Version compilation gets into the top 50, considerably lower than usual, partly because of a stilted release and also because distribution legal agreements means that the compilations can't go on streaming services (though several tracks do get released there as singles). Next week is 100% Kylie Minogue's #1 for the taking, while Little Mix will land somewhere in the top 10 probably.

wow didn't see that coming with Midnight Oil #1 in albums beating Ariana & Sam

I've grown accustomed to the tiresome cynical release of half-hearted remixes to boost chart positions...but this is the one time I can make the exception only because "Mood" already hit #1 in most major markets weeks ago so there's no way to boost it. Evidently the real mission was to assure it becomes another 6 week #1 runner in Australia in 2020, of which it is 1 week away from now, and looks set to get the 6th even as the remix has vanished into the void. Pop Smoke scores his 2nd top 5 hit this year as everything lines up for "What You Know Bout Love", meaning "Lemonade" has now spent 6 weeks at #6. The Kid LAROI has his first ever top 10 hit with "SO DONE", with thanks to the boost from his new extended album. It's slowed down a bit this coming week which might just mean gains offset by the album week hype diminishing, so momentum may be on his side (that and most of the competition is ooooold). Dua Lipa scores a 4th top 10 hit from her latest album, while Miley Cyrus gets a big boost thanks to the Stevie Nicks remix of "Midnight Sky". The Kid LAROI also scores a couple extra top 50 entries, helping consolidate him as having what is surely the most chart entries on debut year for any artist besides the cast of Glee (which he's not far behind either). "TRAGIC" should also be YoungBoy Never Broke Again's highest ever charter but of course he's not credited because of surely not racist reasons that seem to disproportionately affect people of colour nonetheless.

According to Facebook, it is immensely impressive that an artist who's been in the game as long as Kylie Minogue is still able to score a #1 album. You'll just have to ignore the fact that she may well be the youngest artist to have a #1 album this month (well most of the month, I haven't checked the release schedule for next week). Anyway, "DISCO" is her 7th #1 album, as she's settled into a consistent pattern of #1 albums in the 2000s except the two times that she released against especially strong competition. The Kid LAROI returns to the original #3 peak of his album. I could also remark that I believe Kylie's album is her first studio album not to have a charting single on it, and that can also apply to Little Mix who last made the top 100 here with "Bounce Back". They keep consistent though as all 6 of their albums have made the top 10 here. Brad Cox makes the top 50 for the first time this week, while The Smith Street Band have another live album in here. 5SOS's Ashton makes the top 50 with his solo album on the back of its physical release. Next week there is an AC/DC CD and people will be purchasing it.

ARIA tend to keep sales figures under wraps. I'm sure it's at least 5,000 though.

It's 2020, I'm here to report that we now have a 5th song which has managed exactly 6 weeks at #1. Unfortunately this wonderful series of coincidences seems likely to end as "Mood" will probably hang on again next week. Like is often the case, Billie Eilish arrives with a debut at probably peak position for her latest single "Therefore I Am", though this one looks to hold on a bit better than her last two singles. Tones and I has the top debut, and thus for the first time in 20 months, her highest song on the chart this week is not "Dance Monkey". "Fly Away" managed to narrowly sneak into the Spotify top 50 immediately, as opposed to "Ur So F**kInG cOoL" which barely missed out so many times. But also "Fly Away" has a big sales lead so it could be set to be her biggest hit in a while. "pov" misses its chance to be the #2 Ariana song as "34+35" is probably about to rebound itself next week.

There's a new AC/DC album so it's in at #1. It's still #1 on iTunes so it might be one of their bigger ones. Delta Goodrem has made a bid for the Christmas market and can claim the highest one for this week at #5. Australia's leaders in UK drill, ONEFOUR released an EP which perhaps could have landed higher if they wanted to tack on their older singles for better streaming numbers. One of the Teskey Brothers also released a mini album with Ash Grunwald, which means impressively 7 of the top 8 this week are Australian. There's also Andre Rieu who might as well be Australian in at #10. In this big release week, Chris Stapleton still manages a new chart high of #15, while BENEE can't quite match the peak of her random EP dual-set. For the first time ever since it was released, Post Malone's "beerbongs & bentleys" is out of the top 50.

I am sad to report that the 6 week curse is over, "Mood" has now been #1 for 7 weeks. It does so with increasingly diminishing returns so it really would be a good idea for fanatic fanbases to turn their attention to the Australian charts right now as it's never been easier to snatch the top spot. I now get to have 2 Shawn Mendes songs that I forget exist until I look at the chart every week, though this new one has made the top 10 this time. Miley Cyrus is also now just outside the top 10 with two tracks, both with the potential to sneak into the top 10 next week with her album out. I would also like to note that with "Blinding Lights" at #20 this week, it's the first song ever to spend 52 consecutive weeks in the top 20, and that's in fact the entire chart run thus far. It breaks Tones and I's 51 week record but on the bright side for her, she's overtaken Capaldi for the first time in a while which you'd think would be a given but alas. BTS's new Billboard #1 also arrives here at #27, with no sign of "Fly To My Room" which I only note because it was co-written & produced by Australia's own Cosmo's Midnight, which is a very strange thing to type. Hooligan Hefs gets his first ever top 50 hit. Notably he had a pretty big hit about a year ago with "Tell Em I'm Doing Eetswa" which probably missed out on a Song Of The Year ARIA Award only because ARIA weren't counting it at peak which is very ARIA. MEDUZA also prove they can make the chart without GOODBOYS, and this is I believe Dermot Kennedy's first time charting in Australia.

AC/DC do something they've not done in 28 years and stay at #1 for a 2nd year. Granted, 2008's "Black Ice" probably could have if not for the egregious release of a P!nk album the next week. If they manage to maintain these sorts of sales over Christmas, they might even be able to snatch the #1 End Of Year position, which Harry Styles has had locked down for quite some time, largely on residual streams of "Falling". It is up to you which of these makes for a more valid End Of Year best seller. BTS miss out on an illustrious 3rd #1 album as a consequence. Things then get especially Australian, as at #3 we have Australian comedian/musical virtuoso Tim Minchin who is surprisingly just now releasing his debut album after over a decade in the spotlight. Back in 2016 he had a #11 hit charity song which was basically a middle finger to Cardinal Pell which is an extremely good thing to get behind. At #4 is a long awaited return for Australian rock royalty Something For Kate, putting out their first new album in 8 years. They've previously (and still do) made some terrific music and had 2 #1 albums in the past. Perennial high charters Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds return with a live album at #5. Perennial live album releasers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard release a studio album that only lands at #21, as it's running on just digital sales right now. Difficult to spell Skegss also chart with a re-issue of their earlier EPs. Hilltop Hoods have yet another instrumental album, Megan The Stallion debuts low but I assume will fair better next year as "Body" climbs the charts. I also especially shout out Tired Lion who used to be based in Perth, I've seen live and are generally pretty sick. Their 2nd album is their 2nd to make the top 50. In this particularly busy week on pure sales, a lot of albums drop out for the first time, namely Ed Sheeran's "No. 6 Collaborations Project", Taylor Swift's "Lover", and the "Bohemian Rhapsody" soundtrack. Next week will be a battle of various generations as AC/DC will try to fend off Miley Cyrus and a new album of unreleased Powderfinger songs.

Great to hear Harry Styles is the number one seller in Australia!
