"All I Want For Christmas Is You" is at #79 in the Physical Singles Sales Chart (basically any pure sales that aren't downloads). She's coming! @-Jay-

Emotions, the single, turned 30 years old this week!

ET release some archive interview footage from that time:

This isn't an era I experienced first hand (given that I was only 3 at the time x), so I find it interesting to look back on footage of Mariah from when she was a brand new artist. She was always articulate and measured in what she had to say, quietly confident, and she also comes across so mature for someone who was only in her early 20s!

I love 'Emotions', I was introduced to it via Ariana's cover of it however many years ago on YouTube! Happy birthday to it *.* she really does come across so mature and professional in that video.

I've decided to start checking out her albums (about time as such a big Ari fan who is obviously influenced by her) and I really enjoyed the debut - of course helped by already knowing and enjoying 'You Need Me' and 'Prisoner' from AF Idol, on top of 'Vision of Love' (was recently reminded of that thanks to TOTP!). My favourite that I didn't already know was 'Sent From Up Above' which is actually sandwiched between 'You Need Me' and 'Prisoner', so a great run there. Looking forward to discovering more ~

Emotions really did draw my attention to her at the time, i always preferred this and especially love takes time to vision of love which i liked but never loved. Just as i see the thread my first thought was, it wont be long until my fave Mariah song is back on the charts again.

^ Quite an interesting summary of Mariah's Glitter album and movie, which are celebrating their 20th anniversaries this month (the album - 11th September, the movie - 21st September). It was a troubling time in her career which I'm so glad she was able to eventually bounce back from. I've never seen the film, but the album has some great moments! I'm glad that in recent years it has been reassessed, largely thanks to #justiceforglitter (although this particular article writer doesn't think much of the album, lol).

Going further back, a fan's recording of Mariah's 10th December 1993 show at Madison Square Garden - the last date of her Music Box tour - has been uploaded to YouTube! The footage and audio is surprisingly decent considering it's from almost 28 years ago!

Apparently she's confirmed a Rarities Pt. 2

Now as much as I love Mariah memory lane... I think it's time to release some new music and leave the past in the past. Especially as she seems to be ignoring 'Angels Advocate' and 'My Ugly Daughter'

i personally don't see the point ?

Money money money!

She might add her feature with Latto although unlikely, its about time she did a new album though but least big energy put her back in the charts for a while outside of all i want for christmas.

Ive been saying this since 2020! I’m sick of memory lane & if shes gonna choose to stay down memory lane then why not release actual unreleased albums? My ugly daughter & angels advocate come to mind.

Mariah is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Music Box. :D Expanded Digital Edition is coming on 8th September!

Physical formats include 4LP, 3CD and Cassette, not sure how imminent their releases are - they're not up for pre-order yet.

Unreleased songs teased in the trailer:

My Prayer [2:50]

Hero (2009 Version) [4:18]

Anytime You Need a Friend (Extended Mix) [5:20]

Music Box (Acapella) [4:42]

Dreamlover (Live from Top of the Pops)

Plus:

- New Remastered Audio - Mariah Carey Live at Proctor's Theatre

- Behind the Scenes of Dreamlover Mini-Doc

- Dreamlover Music Video in 4K *

- Music Box in Dolby Atmos

- Mariah Carey's Music Box - Then & Now

- "and more!"

New artwork shown at the end of the video:

Which doesn't match what is shown for the physical releases:

Maybe the uncropped cover is digital only... but I read some speculation that the Vinyl/CD could have die cut sleeve, that once pulled away unveils the full cover. We shall see!

* 4K Dreamlover!
