It is No. 10 in South Africa and 'Lovelight' is No.11 now. :cheer:

Scotty... You are all gonna hate me for this ... but... I really do not like it... dont ask me why but its my least favourite on the Album.... so that gives you an idea of my taste in music. I do really like the video & I also love the remixes of She's Madonna but not the track on the album.I dont understand why it is really doing so well in Europe ... is it because it would be considered to sound more like Rob than some of the other tracks on the album.... just wondering & if that is the case what is the future for Rob if he continues along the Rudebox route.

I much prefer The Actor... but obviously it will never see the light of day as a single like a lot of really good songs that Rob has written..... but there you go.. we cant always like the same songs. :unsure: :unsure: :unsure: :unsure: :unsure: :unsure:

I think it's a truely fantasticly crafted pop tune, has a great PSB sounds to it, his voice sounds suberb, and it has a big sing-along chorus, which is just so catchy :wub: . More like a classic Robbie song with him actually singing, which is why it has done so well. If he had've released this song a few years ago, it would've been #1 in the UK. I am positive about it. The vid is very offputting though. -_- I'm shocked that it is your least fave on the whole album, it's far better than most of the songs imo. :wub: The Actor is better though, but I dunno wether it would do well. :(

I love PSB & have loads of their VD's & albums but maybe that is why I dont like this ( I know weird ). its' too PSB for me & yet not enough PSB if you see what I mean... I dont hear it at all as a RW song even though he wrote it & singsit... I just cannot connect to it no matter how hard I try... I actually think that the chorus is really weak & sounds if you like unfinished... in fact the more I hear the original track by Rob the more I hate it & its probably the only track of his that I actually have not liked for ages. I actually really like the single Rudebox & think its sounds better & better every time I hear it.

 

But I still have the same question... How do you think that RW will fare with his albums if he continues to drift away from what you would call the old RW stuff that most of the UK want ( you know sing a long ballads & anthems )..... I personally think Rob will continue is this new direction ... I hope he does as 90% of Rudebox to me is a great album. He no longer needs the money & I think he wants to do stuff that he personally enjoys even if it means lower sales. I suppose we will know when he releases his next original album ( not the swing one )......INTERESTING... :unsure: :unsure: :unsure:

I actually started off not thinking much of She's Madonna, but it has really grown on me and is now one of my faves. I especially love the dark horse remix :heart: Even though it hasn't been officially released in Oz it is getting more and more airplay every week. It was the most requested on my local radio station last week so people are definately liking it :D .

 

I think Rob is in a really awkward position now. He has done so many different styles and he has fans of each different style. The swing fans probably don't like the Rudebox style, the old RW fans may not like the Rudebox style, and the Rudebox fans want him to stick with what he is doing. No matter what he does now he is going to make some people unhappy.

 

I personally would love him to come back with more rock type songs with lyrics from the heart. Imagine an album with songs like Karma Killer, Chemical Devotion, Monsoon, Berliner Star...an album lots of people would connect with.
