Posted November 17, 200618 yr U660eMI-xPw From http://www.thesun.co.uk Not sure whether to believe any of this or not. November 17, 2006 PET SHOP BOYS will bring in the new year by having a Highland Fling with ROBBIE WILLIAMS. NEIL TENNANT and CHRIS LOWE are headlining the famous New Year’s Eve celebrations in Edinburgh. And the whisky-fuelled revellers are in line for a late Christmas present with a guest appearance from the Pets’ pop pal Robbie. He is lined up to perform She’s Madonna with the electropop legends at the Hogmanay bash, as they call it up north. The Pets used their knob-twiddling skills on the ode to Madge, which features on Rob’s latest album Rudebox. I reckon there couldn’t be a better ticket in the country to see in 2007 with a bang. A source said: “Robbie, Neil and Chris have become close pals over the last 12 months. “They performed together earlier in the year for a radio show and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. “It will be one hell of a party up in Edinburgh. “Robbie is up for doing at least one number but if things are going well he could end up doing more.” Robbie is off the booze but the Pet Shop Boys are well known for enjoying a proper knees-up. Their live shows are always a massive spectacle and the New Year do won’t be any different. I was there the last time Robbie performed with Neil and Chris. In May they played a special gig for Radio 2 in the Mermaid Theatre in London — and it was brilliant. The December gig is billed as The Concert In The Gardens at Edinburgh’s Royal Bank Street Hogmanay Party. It takes place in Edinburgh City Centre on December 31 and usually attracts about 300,000 bladdered punters. The PSB’s live show is currently getting rave reviews in the USA and they are promising to play all the classic tracks from their 25-year career. She’s Madonna will be released as a joint Robbie/Pet Shop Boys single in January and will coincides with the start of the Boys’ full UK tour the same month. PAOLO NUTINI, Scotland’s new ROD STEWART, is also on the Hogmanay bill. So I reckon it’s worth packing some headache pills — in anticipation of the hangover — and getting up there.
November 17, 200618 yr I really hope this is right. This is a perfect choice for a single and in the new year he will have the time to promote the c**p out of it.
November 17, 200618 yr Author If he does turn up at the Edinburgh Hogmanay I bet the kilt will get an airing. He'll def need the thermal long johns though.
November 17, 200618 yr I really hope that She's Madonna will be a next single. It would be great - She's Madonna single in January. ^_^ :yahoo: Edited November 17, 200618 yr by Nada
November 17, 200618 yr :o :yahoo: Maybe I shouldn't get too excited as long as it's not official but it would just be ace. She's Madonna becoming a single and Rob actually performing it live, for the first time in a long time he'd be doing exactly what I want him to do.  I guess Scotty will be over the moon with those news, he took the Bongo Bong rumour really badly as did I. :puke2: I'm praying the information is accurate. I'd be furious if it turned out not to be and we'll get Bongo Bong after all...

November 17, 200618 yr The PSB's aren't exactly well known for their promo and performances, so I'm not so sure that we would necessarily see any more with this single release. And of course certain sections of the press will see a Robbie Williams and the Pet Shop Boys single as him being desperate for a hit . I think he should forget about singles. If a great song like Lovelight isn't going to get to number 1, I can't see any other track on Rudebox doing it. I hope I'm wrong though
November 17, 200618 yr Even if Madonna is not a big hit as a single, I'm hoping it could help the album sales. Geraldine, I've had the same thought that because of the PSB-link the press could say he's trying desperately. But they could turn anything into a negative, if he didn't release singles anymore they would say he's given up, so I guess it doesn't matter. If they want to bash him they'll always find something. :arrr:
November 17, 200618 yr And of course certain sections of the press will see a Robbie Williams and the Pet Shop Boys single as him being desperate for a hit . I disagee, releasing yet another cover, let alone an embaressing joke song like 'Bongo Bong' will make the press slag him off alot more than releasing an amazing pop song liked by most people that have heard it, even critics. I hope it is true, but only if Robbie bothers to promote it. If not then we can expect another non top 5 hit :(
November 17, 200618 yr Only now  :o yep..... Don't know why but I didn't like it before and couldn't understand why you all loved it so much... :P
November 17, 200618 yr Author Oh and Robbie makes the front page of the Sun( Scottish Edition).
November 17, 200618 yr Oh and Robbie makes the front page of the Sun( Scottish Edition). For what   Surely not because he is releasing 'She's Madonna' :P
November 17, 200618 yr Oh how amazing :o :D Not too long to wait now :cheer: I hope he performs a few songs myself :D
