Not sure the concert will be televised (even in Scotland). When the Edinburgh Hogmanay extravaganzas started years ago we used to get most of the concert broadcast Live. Which was great. But over the past few years we've got less and less from Edinburgh (really just the firework display at 'The Bells'). :cry:

What the BBC1 seem to now do is have a New Year's Eve programme (based in London) where they show highlights from different parts of the country of various celebrations as well as in London.

 

So I'm sure that a performance by Britain's Most Successful & (arguably) the greatest Popstar of the last 10 years collaborating with one of Britain's most critically acclaimed acts of the last 20 years is worth showing. :lol:

BBC Scotland don't show the Edinburgh celebrations at all. They show a pre-recorded Hogmanay Hoochter-Choochter show.

STV do have some outside broadcasts from Edinburgh but as I said the time dedicated to these broadcasts has been reducing quite a lot.

We tend to get Lorraine Kelly decked out in a ballgown toasting in the New Year in front of Edinburgh Castle followed by the fireworks display. Half an hour if we're lucky.

Then we get 3 hours of highlights from T-in the Park. :rolleyes:

I agree with you Jupiter, I can't see it being televised on New Years Eve (if it even happens, this was in the Sun after all :) ) We normally have regional stuff and lots of jolly non Scottish people in kilts on ITV, a repeat of Jonathan Ross on BBC and Jools Holland on BBC2.

 

Our best hope will be that it's recorded to be shown at a later date.

 

 

It will be nice to have rob in the UK for New Year even if it's not on TV, so I hope the Sun have got it right.

To be honest- I don't know what I'm more happy about- simply the fact that Bongo Bong will NOT be the next single (that alone would have pleased me :D ) or that it will be She's Madonna instead, to me this is the perfect combination. :yahoo:

I guess that article about the video of Bongo Bong that made us all think it would be a single -

any bet that they just shot a short film for this Channel 4 progamme. I always thought the description of the video sounded stange anway, as apparently Rob was not a part of it. It would all make sense that way.

It's almost a perfect pop song, the music is excellent and the Pet Shop Boys produced it perfectely :D

It has always been an obvious single choice imo. It is the only song on Rudebox that has the potential to be #1, although I doubt Robbie will ever have another UK #1, what with the state of the chart :puke2:
