Stevyy

Lets' face it ... it's nothing to do with Rudebox ... it's a full on Anti Robbie Williams campaign by the UK press & many others... all down to nothing but jealousy....so bear with it......

Its the guy in the Big House at the Top of The Hill syndrome........

Things will be better in time......

Well Sin Sin Sin only reached #142 the week before it's release so considering She's Madonna is #109 it may break the top 20 but I would'nt at all be suprised if it did'nt. Woolies only have it at #22 in their chart.

I agree, I think the press didn't even listen too it not objectivly anyway

Yes, sorry, I meant it is the UK Airplay chart. Don't worry, he is still #2 in Europe :D

Scotty ... 32 in the Airplay chart.... Is that good or bad ... at this stage I have my walls covered with She's Madonna CD's & I wake up in the middle of the night & think that they are all sticking their middle fingers up at me personally....

Im telling you this She's Madonna marathon is getting to me..............Its scary :yahoo:

GOOD NEWS!!!

She's Madonna enters at number 3 in Italy

wow very good,, hopefully this does have an effect for the album, too..

Does the press ever listen to anything coming from Rob objectively ?? I think that's a resounding NO

Their needle is firmly stuck on - it Robbie Williams it must be c**p - and has been for a while

Are Robbie or EMI promoting 'Rudebox' in Europe? How come these singles are doing so well in Europe but not in the UK?

Because it is cool to be anti-Rob in the UK atm. The press have turned a huge amount of people off buying the album, and therefor the radio's are'nt playing this single alot. Alot of people are just becoming tired of him if you ask me since he has'nt taken a break in so long, it is natural, and that fact that both Robbie or EMI are putting zero work into the project doesnt help at all. It would'nt matter how amazing the song itself is at this stage imo. I am 100% sure if Rob had've released She's Madonna a few years back it would've been #1, or top 3 at least, just like in Europe.

I am just relieved it is top 20 tbh, I had prepared for the worst so I am actually happy

So the media is not being negative towards him in any other country then? Then again, the thing is with British media - they like to build up a big hero for us all to adore and then tear them back down again, so I guess that's what's happening :( Whereas I'm guessing in Europe he's still very much the superstar he should be...

Oh definatly, he has passed the 10 year mark and this sort of thing is known to happen. I am sure though if he went out of the public eye for a couple of years and then made a big comback that he would be massive again. The British media are by far the worst there is, apperently in most other parts of Europe the whole rehab thing get very little coverage. They just mentioned it, but with the British press they not only have to have it on the front page for days on end, but have to completelly fabricate it and make up countless lies to make it sound more interesting, therefor making him look 100 times worse. The Mirror are the worst for it. <_< And every single article there is written about him in the Mirror (even if it is positive) they always mention how his album flopped. They seem to think he is only big in the UK or something and fail to mention that it was the best selling album outside the US by a solo act in 2006  But most people who read this all the time will stay clear of the album due to the bad feeling surrounding him lately.

Anyway, hopefully this will be the last single off the album. No singles should be released at all, if no work is going to be put into the project. It is doing nothing other than giving the media more reasons to slag him off. <_<

Yes, I think I agree with that.

But, on the other side, it would be nice to have another new video...

Yeah, our media are notorious for being like that. When you see the effect this sort of journalism has on people, it almost makes me feel guilty for wanting to go into that field!

I think he does need to go away for a while, I know he hasn't had a proper break since before the GH.

Yes, I have no problem with constructive journalism that is written in the serious papers like the Times etc, but the sort of vindictive c**p that is written about him in the tabloids day in and day out is sick. The 3AM bitches from the Mirror clearly have something personally against him (He apperently embarssed one of them at the press conference for IC  ).

Here is another brilliant and spot on review. All reviews I have seen for both this and Lovelight have been great, but yet the media still say the album got panned, If the single Rudebox had'nt have been released the album's sucess would be very different imo. <_<

Robbie Williams – ‘She's Madonna’ (EMI) Released 05/03/07

by Rob Watson on 05/03/2007

Robbie Williams. The Pet Shop Boys. Robbie Williams. The Pet Shop Boys. Two of the greatest pop practitioners of the last twenty years, together? Throw into the mix a bizarre career-ending electro album, a stint in rehab and a f*cking BARMY cross-dressing video, type it into google and you'll get the words "5 Star Review" in gigantic, neon letters.

Yes, dear readers, this is brilliant. Absolutely sodding brilliant. Stop s******ing at the back. Apparently inspired by Guy Richie's brilliant dumping of a former girlfriend ("I love you baby, but face it, she's Madonna", a line that forms the chorus) this is a slab of absolute deep-fried electro gold, as camp as a row of tents, barking mad (there's even a Japanese spoken word section!) and with a strange feeling of wide-eyed beauty pouring out of every one of Robbie William's (allegedly) gak-incrusted pores. Hopefully, this will inspire a public reappraisal of Robbie's absolutely f***ing ace 'Rudebox' album, which will lift it into the pantheon of the great unappreciated albums (remember how much you hated 'Kid A' when it came out?) where it belongs. But we doubt it. People can be so fickle, can't they?
