dvd world also review a good range of horror movies each month and tell you of what has been cut by the bbfc.

and dvd world are putting cult 1960s horror film 2000 maniacs on the front of their magazine next month which is the insparation for the robert englund film 2001 maniacs.

Go and see "Pan's Labyrinth", out next weekend. A very, very dark Fairy Tale which uses Franco's Spain and the extreme oppression that went on then as its backdrop....

Not strictly speaking a Horror, but from what I've seen, it is eerie, atmospheric and quite bloody scary in places....

It's actually "Black Christmas", they're using the whole 'slay ride' thing as the tagline.... I'm not sure I'll bother with this, it's yet another of these glossy, pishy remakes of 70s horror classics.... The original with Margot Kidder and Keir Dullea is a bit of a forgotten classic, a pre-"Halloween" slasher film made in 1971 (a good three or four years before Carpenter's film..) set in a Sorority House, but it doesn't get credited as actually starting off the 'slasher' sub-genre simply because it was a Canadian film... which is pretty lame IMO....

I've been told about these two coming out before Christmas

The latter looks like a Jack-The-Ripper type, but he goes around sniffing them first. The trailer is in German but it says it stars Dustin Hoffman

Never-the-less Black Christmas looks good
