Will we ever get an X-Factor winning song that isnt either..

b. a cover ??

 

Surely the mentors should pick different songs for each contestant nearer the time to suit their style/voice?

Simon probably doesn't care that the winners don't last longer than a year. They sing their ballad, they sell a shed load of albums and then Simon's quids in. Then he's got a new one to repeat the trick with the year after.

I want a female to win it for once this year, I'm sick of the one man Westlife's that have been churned out for the past two years.

What you forget is that Simon doesn't care about MUSIC, all he cares about is where he can make the most money from rather than the careers of any of the acts on his label. If he had his way then he'd hold the music industry back forever by using the same old formula over and over again and slightly altering it for whichever audience it appeals to :rolleyes: (which is basically a rotation between kids and pensioners)

 

I used to absolutely LOVE these shows and was always a follower of the winner and whichever other acts I liked but I'm just sick of them now and as I've said many times before these shows have showed the sick way that these acts are manufactured and quite rightly the british public have turned their back on them (with a few exceptions of course) and I hope that the end of these shows will come soon enough and we can concentrate on artists that get into the music industry the way they should be and have the artists had their own ideas for their material (whether they write all of it or not) as that is what music is all about, you love to listen to what the artist wants to give and you make your own opinion of it rather than someone like Cowell giving an act he put together himself or whatever a song with the sole intention to make money. :rolleyes:

Covering Kelly's debut? :o I think Leona could do it justice, but still I don't think they should be re-cycling the same songs...

I agree. It's too soon and Kelly Clarkson's so popular now in the UK - everyone knows it's a cover and one of Simon's acts has sung it before.

 

It doesn't seem a great way to start any act's career.
