March 18, 20205 yr Could the UK, as the back-up host, not host a zombie Eurovision, with an empty stadium?
March 18, 20205 yr this will be a long shot but maybe 2021 will be the first year to have TWO Eurovisions?
March 18, 20205 yr I don’t see why there’d be two eurovision’s. it’ll just be too bad for the performers that were meant to be there this year I think if they aren’t invited back with a different song next year.
March 18, 20205 yr this will be a long shot but maybe 2021 will be the first year to have TWO Eurovisions? Not really as the host of the second one wouldn't have time to prepare, nor would countries who are financially struggling be able to afford two contests in one year, as nice a suggestion it is.
March 18, 20205 yr this will be a long shot but maybe 2021 will be the first year to have TWO Eurovisions? Already been happening since 2003 and I don't accept other opinions
March 18, 20205 yr There's already talk about live-stream events hosted by fans and such on Reddit. > Link < Youtuber XAZ is doing one in early April. Not sure how it'll work but I applied to be a juror just for fun! > Link <
March 18, 20205 yr I mean they've theoretically got Berlin on standby should Australia ever win/the winner can't host the contest so if they rule that there has to be new songs for 2021 I guess you could have some kind of "DVD Bonus Content" contest in, say, January 2021 if people want an opportunity to present the 2020 songs as they were initially intended (i.e. with a full light and projection show) but it probably wouldn't be an option for every broadcaster (like no way could Bulgaria afford that as well) and probably wouldn't be competitive.
March 18, 20205 yr At least we'll have Will Ferrell's Eurovision film this year (wrapped up filming in the UK a few months ago)! (we'll I'm looking forward to it at least )

Not sure how it'll work but I applied to be a juror just for fun! > Link I knew this'd happen, I'd really rather the people who are organising ones to contact each other and try and make it one big thing where we can make a sort of estimated result rather than a group of streamers all doing their own ones, perhaps liased through some of the fansites (though that's not speaking for my fansite).
March 18, 20205 yr perhaps a buzzjack plug (or plug alternative) session could be ran, if this live-stream event doesn't come to fruition?
March 18, 20205 yr I knew this'd happen, I'd really rather the people who are organising ones to contact each other and try and make it one big thing where we can make a sort of estimated result rather than a group of streamers all doing their own ones, perhaps liased through some of the fansites (though that's not speaking for my fansite). I think that will eventually happen. One of these events will start to gain critical mass and it will snowball from there.
March 18, 20205 yr Why couldn't they just postpone it to autumn? JUst a thought This epidemic could last a lot longer than some are expecting. That'd also mean the winner would only have 6 months or less to prepare
March 18, 20205 yr I guess you are right there, seems weird though that cancellation is the ONLY option at this point when the event is still 2 months away. It does no even need calendar adjustments like sport events do. Edited March 18, 20205 yr by SKOB

But William goes through why postponement might not be an option. 20 mins in is relevant Edited March 18, 20205 yr by Colm
March 18, 20205 yr I'm devastated. We are not going to get to see Ulrikke SLAY Attention. We are not going to get to see Athena dance for her life during the Chains On You breakdown. We are not going to get to see Cleopatra or Supergirl live.
March 18, 20205 yr We really have NO way of knowing how long this virus will last, if they had to postpone again when it got to the planned later date, it'd make a mockery of everyone participating. As sad as it is, there really wasn't much of an option :(
