Top-10-The-best-singers-of-all-time.jpg

Everyone likes a rate right? Well you had your say at Christmas on Buzzjack's Favourite Female Solo act and decided that Madonna was No 1- Now it's time for the boys!

So what’s the criteria?

As this is the UK Charts section there are some proviso’s around who can be nominated

1) The act in question must have had at least one Top 40 single in the UK on which they are individually credited
2) That credit may have been a feature
3) Groups are not eligible unless the members are credited with their own names on a top 40 single.
4) To avoid confusion on credits I will treat polyhex.com as the bible
5) By top 40 single I refer to the main UK singles chart not the sales chart or any other alternative chart.

How do I Vote?

Simples. Just PM me with your votes before 23.00 on Friday 17th April 2020 with your top 30 list of your men of pop.

Scoring:

The act you place at No 1 on your list will receive 30 points, No 2 will get 29 points and so on until your 30th man gets 1 point.

We then tally up your marks to give us the ultimate list!

But I don’t like/ know 30 male solo singers?

Firstly what are you doing on Buzzjack? But if you really can’t then that’s fine just submit what you can BUT your No 1 will only get the number of points for the number of acts you enter- for example if your list has 23 male acts then your No 1 gets 23 points etc.

Feel free to use the thread to discuss/ stan for your fave’s but PLEASE DO NOT REVEAL YOUR SCORES FOR ANY ACT.

You may submit commentary with your scores if you wish and it is encouraged as to why that act means so much to you, but it’s not obligatory!

AND ABOVE ALL HAVE FUN........AND BE NICE! :D

Finally: On the subject of Sam Smith- votes for Sam are allowed in the rate- This is no reflection or judgement on Sam Smith's use of preferred pronoun and this isn't the thread to discuss it- but simply put if we excluded them from this rundown then they wouldn't be eligible for either of the threads and we thought that was also unfair

1 point- YOUR 30TH FAVE

Great to see this has started. I'll try to base my votes purely on solo hits as quite a few of the people I will be voting for will also have been lead singers of groups.
Great, will get onto this. What happened with the boyband members one? Did I miss the results for that? Or was someone else running that one?

Voted. Are you planning on doing a group edition out of curiosity?

We'll see how it goes with this one! :D

Not me running it I'm afraid!

A reminder peeps- can you please ensure that whoever you nominate is individually credited on a UK Top 40 single please! I've agreed to the inclusion of people like Mick Hucknell and Noel Gallagher as although they front groups the groups are essentially them with session musicians supporting them on tour and don't have permanent other members.
bit of a stretch considering Simply Red as a solo, pretty sure the saxophone guy was always the same person in the band

All the original members of the band (except Hucknell) had quit by 1996. They do have returning musicians but none that are "always the same" so to speak.

If Michael Jackson doesn’t win this then there is no justice! Will vote for mine shortly

Leaving Neverland says Hi.

If we're voting on musical merit then MJ should win this hands down (yes I know there's a joke in there but I'm not going to make it!)

still but that doesnt make it a solo act... i thought this was for solo acts...

A reminder- can we not give anything away in terms of who we voted for and how many points we awarded them!

Sorry :)

After much deliberating I’ve finally decided on my list.

Let me know if anyone on it hasn’t had a top 40 hit pretty sure they all have at least one.
