October 26, 20204 yr Abba, Queen, Diana Ross, Magic & Bowie on top, all great choices  Bit of catching up to do here! Xanadu, Fame, Don't Stand So Close To Me & All Out Of Love all topped my chart, great to see Christopher Cross' Sailing getting some love, he's been pretty ill with Covid this year, but is happily improving now. Secret Service Oh Susie was a chart flop I bought, Roland Kaiser Ive never heard of, or the song, and I'll be honest it sounds very much like something I'd hear in one of the late night German bars in Gran Canaria, they do love a cheesy beer-fest singalong. If someone was singing along while preparing the food for the table there, presumably they would be a Kaiser Chef. Ouch! Fashion top 10, Tide Is High at 2, Super Trouper (another chart-topper for me) at 4, and Starting Over doing well before John Lennon's murder, all highlights of the recent batch of charts. Nice to see Johnny & Mary doing well, though, Midnite Dynamos sneaking in, under-rated Rockabilly act Matchbox, & a Boney M track I don't remember! Interesting stuff! :)

November 21, 20204 yr Hi Sergej :) Blondie peaked at 2 in my chart I think, Abba at 1, but pretty close there :) Good top 10, fab to see Johnny & Mary doing so well, that was a long-term grower for me, though I liked it a lot at the time, it deserved to go top 10 and didn't. Hungry Heart also flopped in the UK, and deserved better. Passion is one of Rod's forgotten tracks, it's quite good though, and Runaway Boys is fab. I love 1980! Well, until Dec 8th, then things get very dark.... :(

November 28, 20204 yr Love seeing Jona Lewie enter at 19 there!! The charts of 1980 really were just a continuation of the 1970s there weren’t many new artists breaking through until the following year!
November 29, 20204 yr Author Love seeing Jona Lewie enter at 19 there!! The charts of 1980 really were just a continuation of the 1970s there weren’t many new artists breaking through until the following year! I mean Air Supply, Sheena Easton and Shakin' Stevens are new artists from 1980. But yeah, the next year will be a breakout year for many artists! Thank you for your comment!
