The Ashes in Australlia are soon ahead of us, and what does everyone think will happen?

Will England retain The Ashes or will Australlia be victorious?

Personally I think England are going to get beat, very badly and very easily. I wouldn't be suprised if the Aussies beat us 5-0 to be honest.

I'd like to think that, but I just don't see it. :(

Sometime before the end of Novemeber. :D I'm not quite sure though...

That soon. :o

I was thinking more next week sometime.

Am pretty sure I read it this coming Thursday, will double check but I think it is

I think Australia will win comfortably tbh

3-1 to Australia

I hate to say it. But I totally agree with that.

The first Test starts 23:00 Hrs Wednesday night in the UK.

I would love England to win but just don't see it

No Trescothick will hit us hard, Flintoff is very injury prone and is also not a good captain, we have wicketkeepers who can't seem to score many runs and other weaknesses too.

Thanks aah cool it is this week then ^_^

Vaughn (sp?) made England last year. He's very inconcistant with his batting but he's a brilliant captain. Freddy's a brilliant all rounder but I don't really rate him as a captain.

Am I right in thinking that Monty Panersar (sp?) might not be even playing as well for the first test.

is it really this Thursday. well i am looking foward to it. but i think it will be a draw like England 3- Austrilia 3.

Australia whitewash for me

hopefully be able to keep myself awake to watch some of the tests

They can't draw 3-3 as they only play 5 tests.

Probably an Aussie win. As there near impossible to beat on home soil. Who ws the team to beat em at home in a series? Think its been about 15yrs now. But i would LOVE it to win beat em ,however unlikely. Doubt we get whitewashed, we definaly win at least 1 test i would say.

Im not to worried about Trescothick as he wouldnt be any good anyway if he has mental problems. Lets hope monty, cook, and bell can step up to the plate, as they all had great summers. At least this Aussie team is ageing, none of there younger players convince me that there anywhere near the quality of Warne, Mcgrath, Hayden etc. So in the next few yrs we "could" be able to beat em in Austraila, But its a tour to soon i fear, maybe in 2010/11. But people said that last time, and look what happened :cheer:

I reckon England might peak during the Ashes. Everything has gone so wrong lately it would be the typical fantastic ending if everything fell into place during the Ashes! I predict a 2-2 draw!

Read should've been given a chance too - FAR better than Jones!

England batsman Ian Bell will receive treatment on his bruised left wrist and be reassessed at training on Wednesday, on the eve of the opening Ashes Test.

Bell was taken to hospital after being hit by a delivery from seamer James Anderson during practice in Brisbane.

If he is ruled out, Middlesex's Ed Joyce will make his Test debut.

Opener Andrew Strauss said: "If Ed does have to come in he will do very well but we're still very hopeful that Belly will be fit."

Irish-born 28-year-old Joyce was called up when Marcus Trescothick returned home after a recurrence of his stress-related illness.

However, the loss of Bell would be a blow to England and force another batting rethink.

After Trescothick's withdrawal, he is due to be promoted to three in the first Test, the position from which he made 132 in the last warm-up match against South Australia.

After struggling against the Aussies in 2005, the Warwickshire youngster has re-established himself in the middle order.

He made three centuries in as many Tests against Pakistan this summer to take his total of runs to 1,287 in 18 Tests at an impressive average of 47.66.

Could be a bit of a loss for England as Bell's been in a bit of good form for England of late. :(

Yes there first test match is mindnight isn't it. :D
