So I’m spending lockdown rewatching one of my favourite shows right from the beginning. Has anyone seen it? I LOVE IT so much.

 

It started off and ended brilliantly and had a questionable middle but it remains one of the best teen shows of all time for me.

 

Spoilers may feature but for anyone who hasn’t seen it the story is basically a teenage boy from a troubled background steals a car is arrested alongside his older brother and is then adopted by a super wealthy family from Orange County as his mother can’t look after him due to her being an alcoholic. But there’s a lot more to it than that.

What characters / scenes do people see as stand outs from the show for me I think my favourite episodes come

 

 

Towards S2 finale. Kirsten turning to drink, Calebs death, and the finale of Marissa shooting Trey.

 

I think S1 and S2 were the best seasons overall but I preferred S4 to S3. But it’s been so long since I’ve seen it I’ve forgotten some plots. I swear every time I watch it too I recognise a guest character as being someone super famous.

I was so taken aback when they killed off Mischa Barton's character. I remember being SO obsessed with this show. Seth and Summer have been one of my favourite TV couples ever. Their chemistry is just too much to handle!

There’s so many stories online regarding why they did that. She says in a video she chose that exit for the character but the writers wrote the character out the show. She was rumoured to be very difficult on set.

 

In a lot of ways though I preferred the final season of the show to the third. BUT I really wish S4 started right after the events of 3, we missed out on a lot of initial reactions to what had happened and iirc she never even had an on screen funeral. I wish we seen moments like that.
