Lots of confusion and bashing has been going on because U2 are releasing ANOTHER best of, their third in the space of a few years. The reason behind this is simple..

U2 are contracted to release 3 best-ofs with their record company Island, but they are now leaving their label, so they HAVE to put out a best-of as its in their contract. Im sure they're not really happy about it either, which Im guessing is why the profits from the new single are going to charity, to ease any opinions that this project is just cashing in.

So that explans it :D

Oh, i'm relieved to here this. :D

I thought they were just cashing in

Well that is very good news. :cheer:

Not really, people arent bothered about it cause they already have 2 other Best of's that are both a much better buy imo.

It's going to be a very sad day for British music on Sunday what with the talentless Westlife beating 3 of the all time great bands :(

If only housewives just got better taste in music

Here in Ireland, U2 are #1 by miles in HMV, Virgin and Golden Discs.

WELL THE ALBUM IS NEW AT NUMBER 4 in the uk,does anyone think it can go any higher?

NO,too much competition now.

It will contine to have strong sales in the run up to Xmas but I doubt it will sell a million myself.
US is very different though. Album tend to climb. But you can't expect this album to be a huge seller since the other 2 'Best Of' offer a far better collection of songs.

Sorry to put this here, but I didn't feel the need to start a new thread

But what is the sample in New Years Day, it's doing my nut in :(
