Posted November 21, 200618 yr im sure you all know, just thought i'd post just in case people didn't know. it's on their official site. gutted.... :0( x i was well looking forward to it! x
November 21, 200618 yr Any particular reason why...? Have they lost their DAT tapes or summat....? (sorry, just being cynical and remembering the overuse of DAT Playback tapes at the gig of theirs I went to a few years back...)
November 21, 200618 yr Omg. I was going to go to this too. Family Emergency - John's wife went into labour.
November 21, 200618 yr I found out about this at 11.30pm yesterday thankfully, otherwise I would have turned up to the gig anyway. John's wife, Shelly, went into labour and John and the rest of the guys unfortunately had to fly home this morning. It's only natural she'd want him there and he'd want to be there too. Family over work anyday in my mind. Apparently all ticket money will be refunded and there will possibly be another Manchester date sometime soon. No harm done I guess, these things can't be avoided, although it is a little disappointing all the same. Edited November 21, 200618 yr by NatalieMT
November 21, 200618 yr Omg. I was going to go to this too. Family Emergency - John's wife went into labour. Okay, they arranged the date knowing damn fine that the bloke's wife was pregnant and presumably had some sort of idea when the baby was due to be born.... So... unless it was a premature birth, the question is just why the fukk schedule a tour at that particular time...?
November 21, 200618 yr It must have been premature. The baby was due end of November and tonight was the last night of the promo tour. Their next apperance after tonight was December 10th for an acoustic christmas performance. They did plan around it, but I guess it just came that little bit sooner. Sucks for everyone going tonight. But they will be back during their world tour next year.. and I think it will have a longer setlist than the promo tour.. so it'll be a lot better.
November 21, 200618 yr Yep the baby was 2 weeks premature apparently... The band have said they will make it up to fans in the new year - I presume an extra Manchester date.

I dunno, it just seems common sense to plan for something going a bit wrong and either waiting til the kid is actually born before doing the tour or making sure there's a lot of wiggle room.. Babies dont exactly stick to a schedule, when they're ready to roll, not much you can do about it... I still believe that it was a case of a bit of bad planning.... This is Nov 21, it was still cutting things a bit fine; the guy should've been at home with his partner looking after her this close to the birth of his child I personally feel... Would it have really killed them to wait until January to do the promo tour, so the guy could be at home...?
November 21, 200618 yr Yeah I agree it's unfair on John. It would have been better to have had a backup plan and made arrangements to ensure he could take the time he needed. And nope it wouldn't have killed them to wait but I'm sure they thought about all these things and decided it was probably best to go ahead with the uk promo anyway. Although it turned out not to be - this whole fiasco seems to have lost them a few fans, which probably wasn't the intention! I'm just trying to be understanding about it by putting myself in their position, can't have been fun for them to have to disappoint people. I guess I'll just have to wait until the New year for my chance to see the guys again.

Why do I get the feeling that this was much less a band decision and more a record company or management decision.....? <_< The record company wants those TOD units shifted and chart placings, they dont give a damn about whether or not one of the band is having a child or not, do they....? The sooner all artists and bands go 100% internet the better, the more freedom they will have over their own destinies....
November 22, 200618 yr i was goin get tickets to go see them in manchester if they announce another date will everyone who has tickets be able to use there old tickets or will they all go back on sale?
November 22, 200618 yr Tickets have been refunded and the date has not yet been rescheduled, so it appears everyone will have to buy new tickets when new dates are announced. Amy has said the band will make it up to fans, so I presume maybe an extra Manchester date or a pre-sale for the people who were supposed to be at the cancelled gig.
November 22, 200618 yr Shame it was cancelled, though all the best wishes for the new parents. Hopefully it will be warmer weather for when you need to get your tutu out. ;)
November 22, 200618 yr ^^^ I'm thinking it'll be end of February before Ev. are back in the UK so yes hopefully then it won't snow, freeze or rain! Hoorah! I'm a in high spirits about it still, I waited almost 3 years to see then in concert again, another few months won't hurt.
