Wolves signing a Portuguese player? Well I never :o

He's really good, definitely one of these players that will move to a bigger club in 3-4 years time if they perform anywhere near their potential. It does absolutely reek of Mendes though

Hipster signing of the summer!

Anyway, I am totally delighted with this signing. He solves the biggest immediate problem we came up against post Watford defeat, which was teams worked out how to cut the supply of our full-backs. Thiago now means we can be a threat through the middle too.

Some great signings on paper at least in the Premier League this summer! Obviously I want to see them fail, but I am looking forward to seeing the likes of Werner, Havertz, Van de Beek, Thiago in the Premier League. I know we have seen the former two already!

I understand Gareth Bale will sign on a season-long loan for Tottenham today but with the option for a second year - taking him to the end of his Real Madrid contract - if the loan proves to be the success everyone hopes it will be.

Liverpool have also agreed terms with Diogo Jota from Wolves 😮😀

Looks as though it’ll be all out attack this season!

What I wanna know is why on earth they're paying more than twice Alcantara's price for Jota? Decent squad player yes but 45M?? f***ing hell, at least Shaqiri cost peanuts...
Thiago is a 29 yo so there’s no by back value on him whereas Jota is 23 so he can improve and be sold when he’s say 27!

The fee is high but it makes a lot of sense. His wages comparatively are small compared to Werner and we’re paying the fee over the length of his contract. Someone put his numbers up and they’re very similar to Mane at Southampton.. I’ve seen Jota a few times and on his day he can be unplayable, and on his day he can be absolutely awful. I guess Klopp thinks he can coach him to the next level.

It’s a fairly typical Liverpool signing in that as you say Roon You coulda said exactly the same about Mane in 2016 and now look, there’s luck involved but it’s possible. Thiago whereas is a non-typical Liverpool signing in that he’s ready made and in his prime and wants to join because of Kloop and we are one of the best teams at the minute.
