I'm still shocked at how Chromatica fell so sharply and is now bubbling around the 50s/60s each week.... it was the biggest album launch of the year and I expected it to stay top 10/20 for ages. What happened?

It’s because albums streams in the UK are calculated unfairly so whilst Chromatica is ahead of many albums on Apple (and I presume Spotify) in terms of people listening as whole albums the way the OCC calculate streams mean that many older albums like Greatest Hits type albums or albums with lots of hit singles like Ed’s divide and Duas debut end up ahead officially.

Then you could argue that it’s promotion too like we’ve only really had the VMAs so far and Gaga responds well to promotion when she does it.

I think we’ll get more weeks top 100 with this era than what ARTPOP and Joanne managed though!

That’s good news! I was worried the VMA effect would ware off this week but it’s helped it remain stable around the 50-60 area :)

All we need now is a single push and we’ll get a return to the top 40.

That was the VMA week, right? Shame it couldn't increase for the first time.

I was surprised it didn’t have an increase as well. However, it is mediatraffic and it isn’t 100% accurate.

Funny in 2020 there are still people who give credit for this trash blog made by a Madonna fan/Gaga hater.

I guess I just like to follow the sales from Mediatraffic as I am unaware of any other site that updates sales. Hopefully Chromatica will make the IFPI year-end list so then at least we will have a real indication of its pure sales.
