27. Enrique feat. Kelis – Not In Love 100 points

28. LMC vs U2 – Take Me To The Clouds Above 96 points

29. Eminem – Just Lose It 92 points

30. The Streets – Dry Your Eyes 89 points

We lose the second and final entry by The Streets in this section - #30 is a very strong showing nonetheless. Eminem continues to prove popular with voters as 'Just Lose It' is yet another of his songs that manages to finish top 30. Enrique continues to perform well but not well enough in these heats - a shame since 'Not In Love' is a great collaboration between him and Kelis. They are the first to achieve triple-figure points today. 'Thank You' performs similarly to 'Superstar' in the previous heat - doing well but not enough to reach the top 10.

22. Usher – Yeah 124 points
23. JoJo – Leave (Get Out) 123 points
24. Deep Dish – Flashdance 119 points
25. Rachel Stevens – Some Girls 116 points

Rachel only managed #20 with her fabulous debut single yesterday and ranks even lower with her second big hit 'Some Girls'. Still, top 25 is not bad. In this section we also lose JoJo's debut single and The 411's final entry in this heat... and overall.

The top 20 - in alphabetical order:

Anastacia – Left Outside Alone
Britney Spears – Everytime
Britney Spears – My Prerogative
Britney Spears - Toxic
Christina Milian – Dip It Low
Destiny’s Child – Lose My Breath
Eric Prydz – Call On Me
Girls Aloud – Love Machine
Girls Aloud – The Show
Gwen Stefani – What You Waiting For
Keane – Somewhere Only We Know
Kelis – Milkshake
Kelis – Trick Me
Kylie Minogue – I Believe In You
Maroon 5 – She Will Be Loved
Maroon 5 – This Love
Natasha Bedingfield – These Words
O-Zone – Dragostea Din Tei
Rasmus – In The Shadows
Shapeshifters – Lola’s Theme

I am going to take a 30-45 minute dinner break but I will be back either around or before 6 to reveal the rest of the results. :cheer: In the meantime please share your thoughts, predictions and wishes. :kink:

deep dish, jojo and usher are all so good...surprised Usher didn't finish at least top 20!!!

And 3 Britney's in top 20

I know My Prerogative doesn't stand a chance but Toxic and Everytime should qualify for top 10!!!

The rest of what I would like to qualify:

Kelis - Trick Me

Anastacia

Kylie

Ozone

Shapeshifters

Gwen

Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved

19. Britney Spears – My Prerogative 130 points

Kicking off the top 20 is one of my personal R&B favourites of the decade - the saucy 'Dip It Low'. It has done a lot better than 'When You Look At Me' which finished at #39 in the 2002 heat. Britney makes her first of THREE appearances today with the lead single to her first Greatest Hits collection - 'My Prerogative'. It is probably no surprise this is the first Britney song out of the trio. So far Britney has one qualifying song in the form of Oops I Did It Again' - will she be able to get another through?

17. Girls Aloud – Love Machine 158 points

I am shocked 'In The Shadows' has managed to reach the top 20 here. :o It is a song I'm very familiar with but never knew the song title or artist involved. On the opposite side of 2004's music landscape is Girls Aloud with one of their signature hits - the #2 smash 'Love Machine'. They have proven popular in the heats so far with 'Sound Of The Underground', 'No Good Advice' and now this going top 20. We also still have 'The Show' to come. Will it become their second song to qualify for the final rate? B-)

At 16 we have the final Girls Aloud single in this heat which scores only 2 points more than 'Love Machine'. I'm pleased 'The Show' has ranked higher out of the two since I much prefer it. The video, the CD single artwork with them in director chairs was just brilliant marketing. Sadly their three singles from 2004 have failed to qualify but they still have plenty of opportunity to get more than one song into the final rate. At 15 we have one of the many eurodance anthems that dominated the early noughties. I'm actually surprised it was released as late as 2004 in the UK. I always associate it with 2001-02. The track has done remarkably well here in my opinion. :o

Dip It Low, My Prerogative and Dragostea Din Tei

I was wondering if the latter will qualify considering Las Ketchup failed!!!

14. Natasha Bedingfield – These Words 176 points

Finishing in fourteenth place is Natasha's only #1 'These Words'. I feel like this is WAY too high for it but then I've never been a fan. It's one of those songs where I have just never understood its popularity. Natasha's next active year in music was 2007 - a year Addy compiled the results for - so it will be interesting to see if 'I Wanna Have Your Babies' smashes. :kink: That's if it even made the EOY list in the first place.

13. Maroon 5 – This Love 184 points

Out next is my 20-pointer. :drama: 'This Love' was actually top 10 for over half of the voting window which makes me all the more salty! Late voters really did the song dirty. Nevertheless, Maroon 5 still have one more song in play - the classic 'She Will Be Loved'. Will it become one of the 2004 qualifiers? :kink:

31-40

31. Kylie Minogue – Red Blooded Woman 87 points

32. McFly – Obviously 86 points

33. Boogie Pimps – Somebody To Love 74 points

34. Khia – My Neck My Back (Lick It) 71 points

35. Special D – Come With Me 67 points

36. U2 – Vertigo 66 points

37. D12 – My Band 59 points

38. Black Eyed Peas – Hey Mama 55 points

39. N*E*R*D – She Wants To Move 54 points

40. Lemar – If There’s Any Justice 53 points

Fame Academy alum Lemar manages to finish top 40 with his most famous song. In this section we also lose a couple of dance anthems in 'Come With Me' (sorry Jason) and 'Somebody To Love'. The forever filthy 'My Neck My Back' does well to make #34 - roughly where I would have expected it to land. McFly lose their final entry in this heat with 'Obviously' bagging 33 points more than their debut hit. Kylie makes a slightly surprising early appearance with her follow-up to 'Slow' (let's hold a one minute silence for Dannyboy :kink:) but she is still in the running with 'I Believe In You'.

Both songs are a bit meh for me anyway 😂 I believe in you is better though so I’m pleased it’s doing well

Not bad for Special D and Boogie Pimps to finish top 40 knowing Buzzjack's taste.

My guilty pleasure of the year Dragostea Din Tea is not top 10 though. :(

Maroon 5 overrated as hell. <_<

12. Kelis – Milkshake 188 points

In a shocker of sorts 'Trick Me' has received more votes than 'Milkshake' to become the more popular Kelis single. :o I sensed 'Milkshake' was going to do well in this - maybe I expected it to do a bit better even..? Oh well, Kelis still has one song left in the running. Will it become her first qualifier of the decade or is it up next at #11?

Any predictions for the unlucky #11? And when I say unlucky, I mean REALLY unlucky! It has tied with 10th place on points but due to our rules it loses out on entering the final rate.
