Wow that is VERY unlucky for Gorillaz! And I thought Maroon 5's results were bad!

I'm loving the diversity in that top 10! :cheer:

The pop girls noughties classics:

BEHIND THESE HAZEL EYES - Kelly Clarkson

BIOLOGY - Girls Aloud

DON'T CHA - Pussycat Dolls feat. Busta Rhymes

HUNG UP - Madonna

PUSH THE BUTTON - Sugababes

SINCE U BEEN GONE- Kelly Clarkson

And then the indie/rock:

DAKOTA - Stereophonics

FIX YOU - Coldplay

I BET YOU LOOK GOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR - Arctic Monkeys

WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS- Green Day

And people say this forum is anti-male? :kink:

Kelly does double and I was so happy for 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' because I always have a feeling that people give more advantage to 'Since You've Been Gone'!!!

Stereophonics were the biggest shock for me personally because I don't think I ever heard that song before but clearly it shows that is very popular in here.

Thanks to all the comments  and see you tomorrow where Scene will reveal year 2006 :cheer:

I will be counting down the songs all the way down to #21 tomorrow morning and then will be back to reveal the ten songs narrowly missing out as well as the ten 2006 qualifiers at 8.30pm. :cheer:
Bar the utterly horrid fix you, that is a fab list of qualifiers *.* Behind These Hazel Eyes, Biology, Hung Up, Push The Button & Since U Been Gone are all up their with my faves of all time
28. Bodyrockers - I Like The Way 91 points

The Bodyrockers impress by making it all the way to #28. Such a fantastic albeit creepy song.

Creepy? I don't think so. I Like The Way is my second fave from the 2005 list. Such a fantastic 'dance-punk' song. Plus, the lead singer's hair was simply amazing in the video. :P

I find incredible that song has peaked at #3 in 2005 and it was their first and last hit according to Polyhex. :o

It's just the lead singer's delivery of the verses. But it's a great song and I too am shocked it's their only hit.

Today is all about 2006 - one of my favourite years of the decade. As the gifs show, it was the year we got introduced to Princess Nikki, Leona won The X Factor and the year I first got into the charts! So this heat was naturally my favourite of the results I compiled. Anyway let's kick things off. :cheer:

First let's reveal the two songs that received zero points.

Chico – It’s Chico Time
Ne-Yo – So Sick

61-73

61. Akon feat. Eminem – Smack That 24 points
62. Chamillionaire feat. Krayzie Bone – Ridin’ 22 points
63. Beatfreakz – Somebody’s Watching Me 18 points
64. The Feeling – Sewn 15 points
65. Leona Lewis – A Moment Like This 15 points
66. James Morrison – You Give Me Something 14 points
67. Chris Brown – Run It 13 points
68. Ne-Yo – Sexy Love 13 points
69. Will Young – All Time Love 13 points
70. Westlife – The Rose 12 points
71. The Notorious B.I.G. ft. Diddy, Nelly, Jagged Edge & Avery Storm – Nasty Girl 6 points
72. The Ordinary Boys – Boys Will Be Boys 5 points
73. Razorlight – In The Morning 2 points

Firstly, I'm not surprised Chico failed to receive any points here but Ne-Yo receiving none whatsoever for 'So Sick' is rather surprising. :o It seems his follow-up 'Sexy Love' is (slightly) better regarded on here. Razorlight rank bottom of the pile from the rest of the 2006 list with 'In The Morning' but they are still in the running with their #1 single 'America'. The Ordinary Boys' single re-released off the back of Preston's CBB appearance limps in at #72. I was the only one to show it some love. Westlife cement their unpopularity in these heats with yet another of their #1's failing to perform well. We also lose debut singles from James Morrison, Leona Lewis and the Akon/Eminem collab 'Smack That'. I expected the latter to be higher. :o Especially considering Eminem's popularity in previous heats!

51-60

51. Chicane feat. Tom Jones – Stoned In Love 45 points
52. Shayne Ward – No Promises 45 points
53. Sunblock – I’ll Be Ready 44 points
54. Beyoncé feat. Slim Thug – Check On It 44 points
55. Paolo Nutini – Last Request 41 points
56. LL Cool J feat. Jennifer Lopez – Control Myself 39 points
57. The Automatic – Monster 38 points
58. The Source feat. Candi Staton – You Got The Love 34 points
59. Hi-Tack – Say Say Say (Waiting 4 U) 29 points
60. Bob Sinclair & Cutee B – Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now) 27 points

I can't believe I overlooked 'You Got The Love' which should have been replaced. :drama: Anyway, we lose a handful of mid-00's dance tracks in this section. The Sunblock music video is yet another example of using half-naked girls to sell a dance song. -_- We also lose one of Paolo's early hits and Beyonce's Pink Panther soundtrack single. J.Lo yet again fails to attach her name to a song that does very well in these heats. Shayne manages to be the highest-ranked X Factor contestant of the year at #52.

41-50

41. The Feeling – Never Be Lonely 66 points
42. Pussycat Dolls feat. Will.i.am – Beep 64 points
43. Razorlight – America 63 points
44. Sandi Thom – I Wish I Was A Punk Rock (With Flowers In My Hair) 62 points
45. Black Eyed Peas – Pump It 61 points
46. Snow Patrol – You’re All I Have 60 points
47. The Fratellis – Chelsea Dagger 58 points
48. Beyoncé feat. Jay-Z – Déjà Vu 56 points
49. The Zutons – Valerie 52 points
50. P. Diddy feat. Nicole Scherzinger – Come To Me 46 points

In this section we lose two Scherzinger-associated tracks. The lower of the two is her collaboration with P Diddy while eight spots higher she loses one of two Pussycat Dolls singles appearing in this heat - where will 'Buttons' end up? :kink: The Zutons' 'Valerie' manages to pick up 52 points to land at #49 - we will be seeing the song tomorrow in the hands of Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse. I wonder if The Zutons' original would have been more remembered and played on radio these days if the Ronson/Winehouse cover didn't exist? Both versions are great. Beyoncé loses her second of three tracks in this heat - I would have expected 'Déjà Vu' to perform a bit better than this to be honest. The Black Eyed Peas fail to impress again with their second Fergie-included era, this time with 'Pump It'. We also lose number ones from Sandi Thom and Razorlight.

31-40

31. Fedde Le Grand – Put Your Hands Up For Detroit 86 points
32. Christina Aguilera – Ain’t No Other Man 85 points
33. Lily Allen – Smile 84 points
34. Kasabian – Empire 82 points
35. The Feeling – Fill My Little World 79 points
36. Booty Luv – Boogie 2nite 75 points
37. The Kooks – Naïve 75 points
38. Mary J. Blige & U2 – One 73 points
39. José González – Heartbeats 69 points
40. Corinne Bailey Rae – Put Your Records On 67 points

In this section we lose nothing major in my eyes. :kink: Booty Luv's debut single 'Boogie 2nite' is one I would've expected to be a bit higher. I always viewed it as a bit of a Buzzjack fave - maybe I'm wrong. The Feeling lose their third and final track in this heat. Lily Allen's debut single also features. Sadly her follow-ups 'LDN' and 'Littlest Things' weren't able to qualify for this heat. I'm sure we will be seeing more of Lily in three days time though. Christina Aguilera falls out earlier than I expected with 'Ain't No Other Man'. Again, it's a shame 'Hurt' was unable to qualify.

Zutons - Valerie >>>>>>> Mark and Amy's one, fite me.

Heartbeats, Fill My Little World and Chelsea Dagger  06 was the year I got into the charts so I have a lot of fond memories from it.

26-30

26. Rogue Traders – Voodoo Child 101 points
27. Keane – Is It Any Wonder? 99 points
28. Red Hot Chilli Peppers – Dani California 98 points
29. Orson – No Tomorrow 94 points
30. Justin Timberlake feat. T.I. – My Love 90 points

Kicking off the top 30 we have the first of two Justin Timberlake singles in the top 30. Orson do well to finish at #29 considering they were one of the decades flash-in-the-pan bands. This section has some indie/rock faves falling out with RHCP and Keane being unable to make the cut. I'm especially sad about Keane. 'Is It Any Wonder?' is an absolute tune! The brilliant 'Voodoo Child' finishes off this section and has done well to finish at #26.

Snap. That summer was so hot as well so I have some great memories attached to certain songs.

21-25

21. The Kooks – She Moves In Her Own Way 129 points
22. Infernal – From Paris To Berlin 117 points
23. Take That – Patience 112 points
24. David Guetta vs The Egg – Love Don’t Let Me Go (Walking Away) 110 points
25. Bodyrox feat. Luciana – Yeah Yeah 102 points

In this section we lose what I believe is David Guetta's debut chart appearance with the fabulously named The Egg. 'Love Don't Let Me Go' is a bit of a tune. 'Patience' thankfully falls out. I'm sure we will be seeing quite a bit more of Take That over the next two days. :P We also lose The Kooks with a song that seemed to be everywhere during 2006 (in my world at least). Time has been good to it and I appreciate it a lot more as an adult.
