June 25, 20205 yr that sounds bad but that was 99th of all time, it did well to even make that top 100 I guess. when I ran Ultimate #2s of the 21st century, it finished in 151st, out of 300 - so it's slowly improving through the years. (I know you love stats so here's where I got this from and may be to your interest. :P)Not sure I'd noticed that they're all collated in one thread, thanks! I know it was a top 100 of all time but it still felt harsh to finish near the bottom of a rate in any capacity, behind a lot of songs that are... not exactly obvious BJ fave material. Nice that it's improving though (and funny that it placed right next to 'Let Her Go' both times). - WD every song getting at least 9 points in 2001. I don't think I'd ever heard of 'Cold As Ice', song or artist, which seemed unusual for a US rap song as those wouldn't usually be UK-only hits, but M.O.P. are one of those weird cases of having 2 top 10 hits in the UK and literally never making the Billboard Hot 100. Funny seeing 'Perfect Gentleman' end up right next to an Usher song. 'All Rise' seems too low, one of my favourite boyband tracks of the era. Top 50 seems pretty good for Crazy Town and OPM though and I'm surprised how well 'American Dream' did as I barely knew it before. Nice to see 'Rollin' top 40, not bad considering that it got literally no votes until the 2nd page :') And it only got 5 votes in fact, meaning it averaged +17 from its voters. I feel like Geri's 'It's Raining Men' is one of the most useless covers in that it's just like a weaker version of the original with nothing different to offer but maybe I'd feel differently if I'd heard it first. A lot of my other favourite Nelly singles ('Country Grammar', 'Air Force Ones', 'Shake Ya Tailfeather') weren't in here so I'm glad the one that was, 'Ride Wit Me', did well. 'Family Affair' is an essential, should be higher! Didn't know any of Samantha Mumba's non-'Gotta Tell You' songs were that highly regarded. Or that Steps song. Yay for 'Rapture' top 20 ^_^ I kind of liked 'There You'll Be' if I recall correctly but I just ended up with 'This Kiss' stuck in my head for the next day instead, that should've been her big UK hit. Although it's kind of cool (?) how her biggest hit in each of the UK, US and Australia were all different songs. Also I only noticed like... a week ago that 'There You'll Be' re-entered the official top 10 from X Factor in 2008, wow. Great positions for 'ResuRection' (surprisingly!) and 'Touch Me' :D WD 'Teenage Dirtbag' defying the haters :'))))) I'm surprised, I'd have expected it at like #40 or something. Great to see 'Clint Eastwood', 'Castles In The Sky' and 'Another Chance' (and obvious Kylie) in there, and Janet is a cool surprise! - Oh poor 'We're On The Ball', I found that surprisingly good and was disappointed it wasn't on Spotify, then later located a download and I genuinely really like it now. lol at the numerous Will and Gareth songs near the bottom, not undeserved. Poor 'Nu Flow' though... and 'Addictive'?! I would've expected that like top 30 probably.
June 25, 20205 yr Great set of qualifiers from 2000, very happy to see Sandstorm, Stan and All The Small Things make it in particular. Impressed by how close Resurection came to qualifying in 2001 as well, and Travis finishing as high as top 30 was a surprise too.
June 25, 20205 yr I will survive with Survivor missing out the top 10. Janet Jackson relevant in the 2000's? No, thank ya. Touch Me has been robbed. :(
June 25, 20205 yr Author 41-50 iFa6I9KN63Q 41. Atomic Kitten – The Tidy Is High (Get The Feeling) 62 points 42. S Club Juniors – Automatic High 51 points 43. Westlife – World Of Our Own 49 points 44. S Club 7 – You 47 points 45. Marilyn Manson – Tainted Love 47 points 46. Jennifer Lopez – I’m Gonna Be Alright 46 points 47. Fat Joe featuring Ashanti – What’s Luv 46 points 48. Chad Kroeger featuring Josey Scott – Hero 45 points 49. Gareth Gates – Anyone Of Us (Stupid Mistake) 43 points 50. Cheeky Girls – Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) 41 points Kicking off the top 50 is one of my favourite novelty tracks from the decade. :kink: #50 is a strong showing for the Cheeky Girls tbf. The song is a bop! Gareth loses his third song in this heat after 'Unchained Melody' limped in at #71 and his duet with Will Young scored zero points. As some who follow my EOY Survivors may know, I rediscovered 'Anyone Of Us' recently and have a newfound fondness for it. I'm not shocked it's out this early but I'm also not shocked it's a lot higher than his other tracks! There are two songs titled 'Hero' in this heat and thankfully it isn't Enrique's hit that is the lowest of the two. :kink: Both Ashanti and J.Lo lose a track each but this isn't the last you'll see of either of them tonight. S Club 7 qualified with 'Don't Stop Movin'' in the 2001 heat but it's unlucky for 'You' which only makes #44 here. S Club Juniors and Atomic Kitten both lose a single each here but they still have another track each in the running.
June 25, 20205 yr Poor Ashanti...What's Luv is a bop (I probably didn't vote for it but it is a bop...facts)
June 25, 20205 yr Author 31-40 0debAXDUmpc 31. Nickelback – How You Remind Me 87 points 32. Enrique Iglesias – Escape 81 points 33. Elvis vs JXL – A Little Less Conversation 79 points 34. Jennifer Lopez – Ain’t It Funny (Remix) 78 points 35. S Club Juniors – One Step Closer 72 points 36. Puretone – Addicted To Bass 72 points 37. Daniel Bedingfield – If You’re Not the One 71 points 38. Darius – Colourblind 65 points 39. Christina Milian – When You Look At Me 64 points 40. Atomic Kitten – It’s OK 62 points Kicking off the top 40 is Atomic Kitten - 'It's OK' tied on points with 'The Tide Is High' which is rather fitting but received a higher set of points than the latter - I'm glad it ranks higher as I much prefer it of the two. I find Atomic Kitten's debut era very lifeless so 'It's OK' was a MAJOR step up in my books. The video makes me so nostalgic of the early 00's summers and me buying this on CD single. I was the only person to give it points until 4 of the final five voters followed suit! Christina Milian loses her only entry in this heat but will be back in 2004 to fight again. :kink: While 'Gotta Get Thru This' finished rather close to the top 10 in the 2001 heat, 'If You're Not the One' fails to come anywhere near. Jennifer Lopez and S Club Juniors lose their final songs of this heat. Elvis does well to finish at #33. Enrique the Spanish King also charts higher than I expected with 'Escape' - he is still in the running with 'Hero'!
June 25, 20205 yr Author 26-30 AMT698ArSfQ 26. A1 – Caught In The Middle 113 points 27. DB Boulevard – Point Of View 111 points 28. Enrique Iglesias – Hero 106 points 29. Ashanti – Foolish 95 points 30. Las Ketchup – The Ketchup Song (Asereje) 91 points At #30 we have one of my personal highlights of 2002 - the forever infectious 'The Ketchup Song'. I was really hoping (and kind of expecting) you all would stan it more than you have. Ashanti and Enrique both lose their final songs of this heat - I am shocked A1 have managed to finish higher than the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Las Ketchup, Enrique and S Club Juniors! :drama:
June 25, 20205 yr omg Las Ketchup deserved to qualify ffs, a novelty CLASSIC  Hero, Foolish, How You Remind Me, One Step Closer, Colourblind, The Tide Is High & Cheeky Song all out too  I def expected Hero, OSC, Colourblind & Tide to do better aha! That's half my top 10 out already </3
June 25, 20205 yr Author 21-25 4YxTa1AUqps 21. Scooter – The Logical Song 133 points 22. Eminem – Without Me 130 points 23. Oasis – Stop Crying Your Heart Out 123 points 24. Justin Timberlake – Like I Love You 117 points 25. Missy Elliot – 4 My People 113 points Missy Elliot's only entry in this heat does well to reach the top 25! :o Justin Timberlake's debut solo single manages to finish strongly - although I'd suspect 2003 will be an even stronger year for him with his more classic singles released then. Above JT we have three very different songs which all exceed my expectations at least. With 'The Real Slim Shady' finishing at #27 and 'Stan' qualifying in the 2000 rate and 'Without Me' finishing at #22 here, it's nice to see Eminem's back catalogue getting some appreciation on this site. 'Lose Yourself' is still to come tonight - will it be Eminem's second qualifier? :kink: Amazing result for 'The Logical Song' - there's such a euphoric feel to it.
June 25, 20205 yr Author THE TOP 20: Avril Lavigne – Complicated Christina Aguilera featuring Redman – Dirrty DJ Sammy and Yanou featuring Do – Heaven Eminem – Lose Yourself Girls Aloud – Sound Of The Underground Holly Valance – Kiss Kiss Kylie Minogue – In Your Eyes Kylie Minogue – Love At First Sight Lasgo – Something Liberty X – Just A Little Nelly and Kelly Rowland – Dilemma Pink – Get The Party Started Pink – Just Like A Pill Robbie Williams – Feel Shakira – Underneath Your Clothes Shakira – Whenever Wherever Sugababes – Freak Like Me Sugababes – Round Round The Calling – Wherever You Will Go Vanessa Carlton – A Thousand Miles
June 25, 20205 yr Author 20. Lasgo – Something 144 points BF5bV6oWXJg 19. Pink – Get The Party Started 146 points mW1dbiD_zDk We lose the sublime 'Something' at #20. :drama: Absolutely gutted! This was actually top 10 very early on in the voting after receiving double-figure points but its popularity declined throughout the voting stage. :( We lose the first of two Pink singles in this heat which makes me realise 'Don't Let Me Get Me' failed to make it in. :o 'Just Like A Pill' is still to come!
June 25, 20205 yr Author 18. Shakira – Underneath Your Clothes 154 points uwBwKcQ1k84 17. Kylie Minogue – In Your Eyes 154 points OjETibEMbJY Shakira and Kylie both lose their first of two tracks in this heat. It's an achievement for both artists to get two songs in the top 20 here - a testament to their popularity on Buzzjack - I'm rather sad 'Underneath Your Clothes' isn't the higher Shakira song but to be fair it has done incredibly well considering it feels rather forgotten these days.
June 25, 20205 yr at least they finished top half but Point of View is too underrated! Yeah Point of View is amazing, always loved it and still sounds great - one of my ultimate 00s dance tracks.
June 25, 20205 yr Author 16. Nelly & Kelly Rowland – Dilemma 155 points 8WYHDfJDPDc 15. The Calling – Wherever You Will Go 160 points iAP9AF6DCu4 Now we lose two songs that were both in the top 10 at one point or another during the voting stage. This is the closest Nelly has got to the top 10 so far over the course of these results while this entry marks Kelly Rowland's first entry as a solo artist in this rate. It's a shame The Calling have narrowly missed out on a spot in the top 10 as it's a classic!
