It's not a typo, was purposeful, the presence of RuPaul's drags on Gaga's set was confirmed... Not being hateful, but I hope it doesn't turn into a mess, because performances with drags on VMA never worked out... The critics hated Miley's performance closing the show with drags in 2015 and also Taylor's performance last year didn't pleased many - many Taylor fans even hated it. I don't want the first performance of the Chromatica era to be damaged.

"drags"... 😑

Not doing something just because some homophobic critics don't like the award performances that FINALLY started featuring drag queens (who can btw turn the show better than some existing pop hoes)? This is nothing but some "critics" and "fans" voicing their ignorant opinions purely based on the fact that those are drag queens.

Gaga and Ariana have been supportive of the queer community for years upon years so I don't believe there was even any genuine doubt in their minds whether to do it or not.

I think the world needs to embrace the fact that drag queens are now becoming mainstream and more popular than some singers oops~

The fact that these people have expressed their opinions does not make them "ignorant", it's their opinion, as long as there's respect, I see no reason for anyone to say they like something without really liking it. The only "ignorance" is the fact that you don't accept that people can make choices and decide whether or not they like something and have the right to be able to say that, regardless of any flag being raised. "Ignorance" is actually not being able to accept different opinions just to seem cool and more politically correct.

A true and sincere opinion is worth much more than forcing the bar to please others. For example, I don't want the first performance of the era to turn into a mess or a circus, because we waited a lot for that, and that has nothing to do with supporting or not supporting drag queens. It's my right to always want the best for my fave.

But you have a track record on here of not accepting other people's opinions..

That's your opinion in not agreeing with my opinion.

Gaga can invite 100 drag queens on stage, I don't care, as long as it doesn't harm the performance, resourcefulness and quality of the first performance of the era we've waited so long for. If everything is aligned, I see no reason not to invite the drag queens, but everything has to work out. Please read and interpret correctly, thanks.

In the past you've done nothing but ridicule others for having a different opinion to you, so don't sit there and preach about respect and the definition of ignorance

It's still my opinion and you have to respect it, just as I respect the opinion of others. I may not agree, but I respect it.

Oh don't give me that  How is mocking someone's opinion apparently showing respect?!

Everyone has their own way of expressing themselves, and this is mine. And I think it's funny that you didn't say that at the moment you supposedly thought I was "mocking" someone's opinion – what I never did, what I did was point out facts and say what would work and what wouldn't – and decided to say it now in a totally inconvenient and out of context situation.

Everyone has their own way of expressing themselves, and this is mine.

...so don't bring up respect when you show absolutely zero respect to anybody else. Simple

If you can't see my respect for the opinions of others, it ain't my fault. :P

Anyway..

For me:

Alice > Free Woman > Chromatica II - 911 > Babylon > Rain On Me

I'd obviously love more but they're not going to give her enough time to do half of the album

It's not a very sound logic. Ignorance doesn't have anything to do with voicing an opinion in itself. For example, hate speech might be a "true and sincere opinion" but it's ignorant (to put it mildly) to the max. Challenging an opinion isn't the same as not accepting it. But it's all OT~

What I was saying barely has anything to do with people not being able to voice their opinions that they didn't like the performance itself. My issue is you assuming that it will not get liked by the critics/fans purely because of drag queens and you cited previous performances as examples. Gaga made a career out of supporting the queer community so this gesture is very beautiful and should mean a lot to her core fanbase which surely remains unchanged for years. Besides it's not possible to please everyone and nowadays most artists are at least somewhat involved in social and political issues. There's just no way around that. I think it's beautiful she really wants to make the world a better place even if it ruffles a few feathers and might be detrimental to her career (which it really won't). The only person who can decide what to do with her career is Gaga. Your opinion has a right to exist but it's not relevant, the exact same way mine or anyone else isn't.

I for one am very excited as I'm clearly a huge Drag culture fan and I need to look up the list of the queens performing.

That's a really beautiful way of looking at it!

And just for the record, we WILL continue to keep the debate classy and professional and ANY post that in any way attacks, undermines, shades or is negative towards someone else from now will be deleted (that goes for any area of this website). ANY ISSUES YOU HAVE BETWEEN YOURSELVES TAKE TO PMs because we are not having them play out on the site.

If your post isn't about Gaga, don't post it. If you have an issue with another member, PM them or a member of MGMT.

Saying this LOUD and CLEAR so don't complain if warnings are given out if you don't follow what is said here.

You clearly don't know how to express yourself, or express yourself without saying that someone's opinion is not valid, this is not you who has to say, all opinions are valid, since people have the right to say what they think and have the right to have an opinion on whatever they want, even if these opinions are considered ridiculous, utopian or out of line for you. I say and repeat: all opinions are valid. You cannot try to silence someone's voice just because it doesn't match what you think and advocate. The fact that the critics and most of the fans didn't like Miley's performances in 2015 and Taylor's last year (which included drag queens) has absolutely nothing to do with hate speech or something like that, it's just people's opinion, get ovet it, if you can't live with opposing opinions and go your own way without having to say that everything and everyone represents hate speech or prejudice, this must be a problem inside you.

But anyway, at no point did I say that the girls' performance in previous years was hated because it contained drag queens as part of the cast, I said that in the general context and in the final result, the performances ended up looking messy, amateur and improvised, and the critic agrees with me, see the ranking of the best performances of VMA 2015 and 2019, the performances of Miley and Taylor always appear at the bottom of the list, and that would be very different and would have another outcome if they had followed a leaner script, with less freestyle tricks and less extras. For you, it's so hard to read a short text and try to understand what's actually written without distorting what people say to try to make the game in your favor?!

Looking forward to this and also seeing some drag queens if that's true.
