Taylor Swift has flexed her superstar muscle once again. With her surprise album folklore, the Republic icon dropped the year’s biggest debut to date, owning #1 on the HITS Top 50 with 823k. The set earns Swift her largest streaming week ever, with 275m+ on-demand audio streams. It’s also the biggest bow since her 2019 album, Lover (867k), which increased 64% this week and leapt to #15. Among the records Tay broke with this album: the most first-day album streams by a female artist on Spotify (80.6m); the most streams for a pop album in its first 24 hours on Apple Music (35.5m); and the most U.S. and Global streams at Amazon Music for an Indie/Alternative album. August 7, 20204 yr Author I have sales now so! Week 2: folklore 59,610 cardigan 22,026 (57,345) -> comfortably 14th, not too far off 13th exile 18,081 (49,425) -> this was a lot closer to 23rd than 20th tf the 1 14,458 (43,263) -> this was v. close to staying top 30 ahh

August 8, 20204 yr Do we know roughly the worldwide total for Folklore? I’m guessing somewhere in the region of 1.5-2 million?! I really am just guessing at that based on week 1 & 2 US Numbers though..

August 14, 20204 yr Author week 3: folklore 75,149 lover was at 80,431 at this point so its incredible folklore has nearly caught up considering it opened 16k lower than Lover!!! here are Lover's sales for the next few weeks for reference points: W4: 8,723 (#5) - 89,154 W5: 7,084 (#8) - 96,238 W6: 5,994 (#6) - 102,232 - W7: 5,316 (#13) - 107,548 after that I don't have any individual weekly sales after that aha! so hopefully folklore should be gold by 12th September (it's 7th week) I'd say! Slight chance it makes it by the 5th or even the 28th if it holds really strongly the next couple weeks!

August 28, 20204 yr Author week 5: folklore 94,146 8,445 this week. gold next week? :o <3 1.3k higher than Lover's 5th week. just over 2k under its total sales, I think it could overtake soon! here are Lover's sales for the next few weeks for reference points (96,238 as of W4): W6: 5,994 (#6) - 102,232 - W7: 5,316 (#13) - 107,548 Lover total sales atm are 233,879 - hopefully folklore will get big boosts with exile push/grammys/xmas sales esp with how autumny the album sounds and reaches platinum :lol:
September 17, 20204 yr Author oops I flopped and missed a bit :/ week 6: W6: 6,437 (#8) (total sales: 100,583) W7: 5,353 (#5) (total sales: 105,936) went gold at the same pace as Lover :cheer: it's W7 sales are just above Lover's, shame can't do anymore week-for-week sales after this as don't have Lover weekly sales breakdowns after this! Still doing so well in terms of chart positions + the lack of promo so far for folklore + future single pushes/promo will hopefully lead to continued more longevity!
