How dare women be sex positive

Rapping about wet ass pussy is sex positive? Okay hun :D

Yup. Men rap about "f***ing bitches" all the time and say much more explicit stuff than that - let's direct this distaste of sexual lyrics to the people who are actually making them in a derogatory manner

I mean, it is???

They're literally rapping/singing about enjoying sex. There is nothing wrong with that at all.

Women spent decade after decade after decade fighting for equality and not to be treated as sex objects.

Now we have endless arguments about women having the freedom to choose to make a music career out of being a sex object...

Using hard fought freedom to ‘choose’ to be a sexist stereotype seems an odd one to me. Call me old fashioned.

Funny old world.

Now women can choose to do what they want, and do it on their own terms.

Where is this energy to the men who call women they have sex with "bitches" and describe every detail as if women are objects? WAP is pretty tame in comparison but a woman talking about her "pussy" seems to be scaring some people.

Women spent decade after decade fighting for equality for Cardi B to rap about her wet pussy? Yeah, right :D

And before you all moan, if a male rapper sang about his wet dick I’d have totally the same reaction.

Is Cardi hurting you by rapping about her private parts? :(

WAP is really growing on me. Usually I’m not overly keen on that genre of music  but Cardi just has something about her that makes me really like her and the video is insane too.

I heard it on Friday quite a lot all of my friends who are females and massively into that style of music loved it. It sounds huge. I think it could potentially become a long running top 5/10 smash tbh. YT and streams will work in its favour.

There’s a radio edit on YT where she’s saying wet wet wet instead of wet ass pssy

I have plenty of energy to call out male sexism thanks, most of us would because women won many of those arguments and battles over the years.

I just doubt women artists choosing, out of a spectrum of hard fought freedoms, to be a stereotyped sex object is particularly helpful to women as a whole. That was the page 3 argument.

Maybe this is a generational thing.

Anyways, peace and love.

No one's disputing that but WAP is actually disgusting..

I fail to understand how Women keep wanting this equality yet a lot keep falling victim of having to be sexual in music, makes no sense to me it's 2020 yet they are still using sex to sell?

No hate, but it literally makes no sense.

Edit - Just read through other comments seems I'm not alone in this thought!

Edited by Mr. C. Joel

It makes sense because women are allowed to celebrate sex, their bodies and rapping/singing about whatever they want.

I personally LOVE the song and think it's really refreshing to hear a song so openly about sex and coming from the women's perspective and taking back "hoeism".

The posts in this thread are all quite concerning, I thought we had moved on from what people can or can't song about. Were you all moaning about Khia's My Neck My Back back on the day too?!
