Posted October 24, 20204 yr Ok, so I've decided to do something of a recap of my top tunes of the year but since the year isn't over that might be somewhat difficult. However, I'm itching in my fingers to do it this time because for the first time in my life I have managed to keep a Top 100 (+ bubbling under) chart for the entire year and while I have not posted most of it here I want to post my year-end instead. How I will do this will be in phases. I'll be using a variation of a format I've seen some people use here. I'll be covering each month at a time, choosing a number of tracks to move on to a final and eliminating the rest. At the end of the year I'll start covering the tracks I have left and counting down my Top 200. While I have been using a points system this year that could positively recap my favorite songs for me I feel that it leaves out the most important part of the process: my opinions on them today. Also the points system skews terribly towards songs that were released earlier in the year and leaves the newer ones in the dust so while I will use it for some help I'll still be adding my own opinions into the mix. Here's the set-up:Each month will be covered separately. The time-frame I'm looking at is all entries that debuted from December 6, 2019 to November 26, 2020.10 songs will qualify per month and 12 songs will be entered into the Wildcard pool.Once every month has been covered I will have 120 songs in the final and 144 wildcards. The wildcards will be split into four groups of 36, based on season (winter, spring, summer, fall .. ish).20 songs will qualify for the final and that's when the countdown will really star.I have a hard time making final decisions so putting these restrictions will help me narrow down the list into something I'll agree with  December 2019 will be the first month covered and I'll open it today. 51 songs debuted on my chart in that month and a little over half of them will be eliminated for good in this round. October 24, 20204 yr oh my wasn't expecting an EOY thread to appear this early :o interesting format anyhow. Sunset Jesus has to be my fave of that section, it's not one of my big Avicii faves but it still made my Top 20 in the day. Only You made my Top 10, I think her version's lovely, although I treated it as a Xmas song and dropped it completely in January. Must Be Love I also charted briefly low down, decent song but not one I've gone back to since really.

I thought that since this project might take a while and I'm bored and need a distraction from school I might as well start this  Thanks for the comments though! Happy to see you like some of these. Excited to see if you agree with the songs I put through or what!

October 24, 20204 yr Friend of Mine now that's an all time fave for me, one of the admittedly quite a few Avicii songs that are "Danævii millionaires". Great to see Alexa, Queen of Christmas getting in too!! River was already a big Xmas fave of mine in the original version so it was great having Ellie cover it and make it somewhat popular again.

I actually heard River for the very first time when Ben Platt covered it on The Politician and I thought it was an original () so I was surprised to learn it was a christmas classic come Alexa-mas.
October 24, 20204 yr Author Here we have the 22 remaining songs. 10 of these will be automatic qualifiers into the Top 200 while the remaining twelve will be Wildcards. In this batch we have two number ones, eleven further top 10 hits and nine non-top ten hits. There's a handful of actual chart hits here from Harry Styles, Ava Max and The Weeknd, some familiar names with songs that failed to set international charts alight like Avicii, HRVY, Molly Sandén and The Chainsmokers & Kygo. We also have some artists who have had minor chart success or commercial recognition in the past like Example, Daya, Nause, SHY Martin and Steve Aoki. Further we have names that some may be familiar with for various reasons that others might not have ever seen before like Caroline Polachek, Elísabet (Ormslev), Just Kiddin, Malou Prytz, Shallou and Tusse. This is a splendid batch of songs and artists and I'm excited to see if any of you know/like/love any of these more obscure songs here and if there are any that you are rooting for. I'll show the automatic qualifiers one at a time while relegating one song to the wildcard slot too. These are in random order. Edited October 25, 20204 yr by devil tin coffin
