The issue is that she likely didn't record a complete album with Ministry of Sound, but it mostly existed of a bunch of incomplete earmarked demo recordings.

So the final album basically ended up being a mish-mash of ideas without any real direction to it.

I'd say lower as interest in her solo work waned rapidly after 'Lately'. Although some of those left over 'Unleashed' tracks sound more interesting than a lot of what made 'Never or Now'. 'U Sure Do/I'll Wait For You' was the original planned 3rd single before Lisa got dropped, but judging from the #11 peak of 'Too Far Gone', doubt 'U Sure Do; would have done any better & probably would have charted low top 20 or top 30 at best.

As for the album if it got released in its original form in 2003 I'd say Top 75 at best. But 'Never or Now' in 2007, it would miss the top 100, as critics would tear it apart & the publid just weren't interested at that point.

I think u sure do might have done ok for her, but if it had there was nothing else available to follow it up decently with.

I don't think so to be honest - I suspect after Too Far Gone missed the top ten it would've been struggling to get a playlisting (missing the top ten back then for a pop act was a HUGE deal). Add that the sort of dance sound she went for, there was maybe a few dance hits a year that really broke through (usually in the post-Christmas party market + late summer after everyone was back from Ibeefa). I don't think U Sure Do sounds like something that would've been a hit in late 2003/early 2004.

Out of the tracks I've heard from the Ministry of Sound "era", only "Lately" strikes me as having a proper cross-over appeal to the pop market so it was probably the right choice for the first single. "Too Far Gone" strikes me as too far gone (heh) towards the dance market, as do "U Sure Do".
