But Gaga only released ‘Stupid Love’ then the Ariana collab and Taylor released the album out of nothing so there wasn’t much of a campaign.

Yeh I always wondered by Gaga and Taylor didn’t continue to promote with follow up singles!

Gaga was fighting for BLM.

Taylor's got nothing to prove anymore tbh. I would love to and definitely want to see exile or the 1 smash (and they could) but if she doesn't want to you can't really blame her..
Taylor released the album out of nothing so there wasn’t much of a campaign.

The surprise release of Folklore has already served as its promotion, the hype always works the first time, do you remember Beyoncé's surprise drop in 2013?

Yeh of course but adding the Bon Iver song to radio would surely help it continue to be at the forefront during this time of year.

I’m not attacking her just wish she’d push something else. I mean her album will likely drop down to 3-4K again now the vinyl have been added.

It's the 2020 strategy it seems, you stop all promo after album release week :/

Someone better tell LM then how dare they have promo more than 2 weeks after release

^let's see if L Mix have a post-album hit single :)
They’ll likely release a song in feb round the brits time with a remix!
For me, singles sales have been extremely inflated since 2013. Proof of this is that on the OCC's 2017 list of the 50 biggest singles in UK history, of these 50, 20 are from 2013 to 2017 and today, singles released from 2013 onwards are the majority on the list, which doesn't reflect reality at all. The streams of the songs released in the streaming era should be divided by something like 250-300 instead of 150 to reflect, in fact, the actual size of these songs and how big they were/are, while the streams of the songs released before the streaming era should be divided by 125-150.

I think that is why the OCC hasn't released an up to date list since 2017, because they know the calculations were so far wide of the mark. Bieber had 2 songs that had combined sales of over 2 million, despite being only 2 years old. Sheeran had a similar scenario, despite the fact that in the history of the chart, no artist previously had sold more than 2 million of 2 separate songs! For them to having been listed as having done so within a couple of years of release was laughable. As is the fact that Shape of You had more combined sales than Bohemian Rhapsody, a song that has been racking up sales since 1975.
