Posted December 2, 200618 yr Virgin Net Music news Monkeys dump producer The Arctic Monkeys have reportedly binned their producer Jim Abbiss - and hired another music guru to work on their second album. Abbiss has worked with a number of big acts including Editors and Kasabian but now the rockers want to replace him with James Ford - the man behind dance act Simian Mobile Disco. Ford and James 'Jas' Shaw first formed Simian Mobile Disco as a DJ partnership. After playing around Manchester for a while, the two became their own in-house tour DJs. He also wrote 'We Are Friends', which was a massive hit in Ibiza this summer. A source told the Daily Star: "James has fitted in seamlessly and the boys have been exceptionally productive. There's close to 30 tracks in various stages of completion and the lads are extremely pleased." The band intend to release a new single in February. The source added: "Everyone's sure the lads will easily match the success of their first record." Any Comments?
December 2, 200618 yr I'm unsure about this. Their old producer did a lot of good for them and he's had experience with a few other indie acts as well, but James Ford seems a good producer and if The Arctics are happy with him then I think it must be all good. ^_^ New single in February. :o Album could be out for around February/March time then. ^_^
December 2, 200618 yr I think it should be good as it looks like the next record will definitely not sound the same as the last one but I just hope it's just as good and yes it looks like Arctics and Kaisers will have a bit of a battle on their hands early next year ^_^
