When you think about it, that's in line with many women's major winners. I can't keep count of how many players in the past 10-15 years have won their first Slam and never ever got close to winning a second. Hopefully that's not the case for Raducanu but it wouldn't be a surprise to see happen.

Andy Murray missed out on a first ATP Tour semi-final in two years after losing to American Tommy Paul in the Stockholm Open quarter-finals.

Murray, 34, beat top seed Jannik Sinner on Wednesday but could not find the same level against an inspired Paul.

The Scot lost 6-2 3-6 6-3 as Paul, ranked 52nd, set up a last-four meeting with fellow American Frances Tiafoe.

British number two Dan Evans led Tiafoe in their quarter-final earlier on Thursday before losing 1-6 6-1 6-1.

The Masters are here.

Watched most games for the Under 21 in Torino, many great games, especially enjoyed watching Alcaraz and Korda, deserved finalists and Alcaraz a deserved winner, was on a league of his own. Really looks a future #1 contender.

Just realised for the Maters both 8 men and 8 women are all European. Rooting for Badosa to win in women, she completely splayed Sabalenka on their match on day 1.

The men just started with a very mediocre game, how did this Huzbeck make the top 8?

wow Muguruza to the semis

2 Spaniards in the top 4 is nice to see

Roger Federer says he is unlikely to play Wimbledon next year and has confirmed he will miss the Australian Open as he recovers from injury.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion has not played since losing in the Wimbledon quarter-finals in July and having more knee surgery.

The Swiss, 40, told Le Matin that he does not expect to return to competition until next summer.

"I would be extremely surprised if I could play Wimbledon," he said.

"I will be able to resume running quietly in January and resume sessions on the court with complex support in March or April.

"I therefore estimate my return to competition in the summer of 2022."

Serena Williams says the case of Chinese player Peng Shuai "must be investigated" and urged people "not to stay silent" about her welfare.

Peng, 35, has not been heard from since she made sexual assault allegations against a leading Chinese government official two weeks ago.

Chinese state media has released an email attributed to Peng, but doubt has been cast about its authenticity.

"I hope she is safe and found as soon as possible," said Williams.

She's accused some top guy of something, she'll probably never be seen or heard from again. This is China we're talking about.

Herbert / Mahut are ATP Finals Doubles Champions 2021. Mahut draws attention to Peng Shuai with his camera lens message

so Zverev is the Masters champion

He played very well against Djokovic, it was pretty clear from the beginning he was gonna take it

Missed the game against Medvedev but kinda knew Zverev was gonna win it cos Medvedez wasn't playing that well imo

Good to see Zverev win that as Djokovic and Medvedev had won the four grand slams between them. I saw the final set of the final. He was playing really well and Medvedev had no answer.
