Cameron Norrie's hopes of winning his first ATP Tour title were ended as he lost 6-4 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 to Italian top seed Matteo Berrettini at Queen's Club.

The British number two fought back after losing the first set to become the first player to take a set off Berrettini at the Cinch Championships.

Johanna Konta fought back from a set down to defeat third seed Elina Svitolina and reach the Canadian Open third round.

Svitolina looked in control when she took first set in just 38 minutes.

However, Konta showed remarkable resilience, winning eight out of nine games to take the second set and go a double-break up in the decider on her way to a 3-6 6-3 6-2 win.

She faces Russia's Anastasia Potapova or American Coco Gauff in the last 16.

Six-time champion Serena Williams has become the latest high-profile player to pull out of next week's US Open.

In a post on social media, the 39-year-old American great said she needed time to allow her body to "heal completely" from a torn hamstring.

Williams joins defending men's champion Dominic Thiem, plus Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, in pulling out of this year's final Grand Slam.

The tournament, at Flushing Meadows in New York, begins on 30 August.

Alexander Zverev says he is taking legal action over allegations he abused his former girlfriend and issued a statement to "categorically and unequivocally deny" the claims again.

The German world number four last year denied Olya Sharypova's allegation he was violent towards her and he repeated that on Friday after new details of her accusations were published this week.

Three days before the US Open, where he is among the favourites, he also backed calls for governing body ATP to introduce a domestic violence policy.

World number six Elina Svitolina has won her 16th career title by beating Alize Cornet at the Chicago Open.

The Ukrainian top seed, 26, won 7-5 6-4 as France's Cornet struggled with a groin injury.

poor Murray, he really deserved to win over Tsisipas

just like Murray, very disappointed with Tsisipas dirty tactics of taking a 10 min toilet break...

Andy Murray played very well. He really needed to win that second set tie-break when he led it 5-3. Based on that match, I think he should play on for at least one more year.
