You have to hand it to New Zealand. Won the World Test Final, lost a very close World Cup Final in 2019 and now in the final of the T20 final. It’s a golden generation bunch of players. Always produced good individual stars such as Hadlee and McCullum but this team bat long, field brilliantly and bowl well.

Indeed we do, they have been very disciplined in the field when I have watched them.

Pakistan or Australia to join them? It might be rather interesting if Australia joined them.

Think I will go for Pakistan based on their form.

The second semi-final ended up being similar to the first with Australia scoring 60 off the last five overs. In these T20 matches, the team batting second almost always find a way to win, even if they need more than 12 runs an over.

Australia came back from the brink to beat Pakistan by five wickets in another gripping Men's T20 World Cup semi-final.

Needing 20 off the final 10 balls, Matthew Wade was dropped by Hassan Ali before hitting the next three deliveries for six to complete a stunning pursuit of 177 in Dubai.

Australia had been struggling at 96-5, despite a belligerent 49 from David Warner, before Wade and Marcus Stoinis' grandstand finish.

Some lack of discipline from the bowling attack, no balls, wides and in the field dropped catches and missed chances to prevent boundaries.

Very good match, I was on tenterhooks.

Good luck to Australia.

Pity that a super innings from Williamson had to end in a defeat. Highest scoring captain (runs) in an ICC T20 World Cup final. I suppose he has that bragging right over Aaron Finch.

Brilliant from Marsh, he got on with it right away. Well done Australia.

England bowler Adil Rashid says he heard Michael Vaughan make a racist comment to a group of Asian cricketers, becoming the third player to do so.

Rashid's former Yorkshire team-mate Azeem Rafiq alleges Vaughan said "too many of you lot, we need to do something about it" to him and three other players.

The allegation, which Vaughan "completely and categorically denies", was corroborated by former Pakistan bowler Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, who said "systematic taunting" occurred at the club.

Warner and Marsh batted really well to chase that target down. Australia improved a lot as the tournament progressed.

Yes, they both played awesome and marsh "OMG", he is a hitter

England fast bowler Olly Stone says he considered his future in the game following his latest injury setback.

Stone had surgery to insert a screw into a stress fracture in his back in July, which has ruled him out of this winter's Ashes and left him worried about his Test cricket future.

"I've given myself the best possible chance of doing everything I can to play Test cricket, and if it means I can't, it would sit right with me if I have to call it a day in the longer format," the 28-year-old said.

India have won the T20 series against New Zealand. One more match on Sunday then there are a couple of test matches to complete the tour.

The treatment of Tim Paine has been the "worst of an Australia Test captain in 50 years", says Cricket Tasmania.

Tasmanian Paine stepped down on Friday over an investigation into sexually explicit texts he sent to a female Cricket Tasmania colleague in 2017.

The 36-year-old had been captain of the Australia Test team since 2018.

"The treatment afforded to the Australian Test captain by Cricket Australia has been appalling," Tasmania chairman Andrew Gaggin said.

The messages came to light as part of a misconduct investigation after the female colleague made allegations against Paine in 2018.

"It is clear that the anger amongst the Tasmania cricket community and general public is palpable," Gaggin said.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan will not be involved in the BBC's coverage of the Ashes in Australia.

Vaughan was named in Yorkshire's report into Azeem Rafiq's claims of racism during his time at the club.

The 47-year-old, who was stood down from his BBC Radio 5 Live show earlier in November, will also not be involved in the BBC's "wider coverage of the sport at the moment".

Pat Cummins has been named as the Test captain for the Ashes, Steve Smith as deputy. This is Smith's first leadership role since the 2018 series against South Africa with the ball tampering plan. The two year ban he received from leadership in Australia cricket has been served.

Ben Stokes took two wickets on his return to action as England finally began their last Ashes warm-up match against England Lions in Brisbane.

The all-rounder dismissed Zak Crawley for 45 and Chris Woakes for 13 in claiming 2-31 from 10 overs.

It was Stokes' first appearance since he took a break from cricket in July to protect his mental wellbeing.

The Lions closed on 226-4 at the Ian Healy Oval, the first two days of the four-day match having been washed out.
