Ajaz Patel became the third bowler in Test history to claim all 10 wickets in an innings as New Zealand bowled India out for 325 in the second Test.

The 33-year-old left-arm spinner added six wickets to the four he took on day one to finish with figures of 10-119 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Patel joins England's Jim Laker (1956) and India's Anil Kumble (1999) in picking up 10 wickets in an innings.

Middle-order batter Travis Head and left-arm paceman Mitchell Starc have been named in Australia's team for the first Ashes Test against England in Brisbane, which starts on Wednesday.

Head averages 39.8 runs per innings in Tests and has seen off competition from Usman Khawaja to bat at five.

Starc, the 31-year-old fast bowler who has 255 Test wickets at an average of 27.6, is in ahead of Jhye Richardson.

India need five New Zealand wickets to win the second Test and series after dominating day three in Mumbai.

Virat Kohli's side moved from 69-0 overnight to 276-7 before declaring to leave the Kiwis a nominal 540 to win.

Mayank Agarwal made 62, while left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel - who took 10-119 in the first innings - claimed 4-106.

I’d have it at 2-1 or 2-2 going into the 5th test. I guess the unknown is where that 5th test will be. Melbourne? Sydney? Hobart?
Can see a 5-0 whitewash to Australia. Our battling line up is absolute tosh if Root doesn't score.
What a first innings from Australia. Though I’ll hold judgement until Australia face the England bowlers.

Good innings, but our batting is terrible is Root doesn't show up. We can't be relying on our bowlers to help us out every time. Really think this could be a whitewash unless we get lucky with the weather at some point.

Looking up the forecast Brisbane could be a no result. The forecast for the next 2 days doesn’t look great.

Hopefully it’s not a whitewash, I mean as an Aussie I’d enjoy it but I’d like it to be close.

That brilliant first ball of the series though!

Not sure I’d describe a half volley on leg stump a brilliant ball, terrible batting more like.

I wouldn't trust Burns to open a supermarket let alone opening the batting for England.

Yeah ok, maybe not brilliant. Yes there’s been tons of better deliveries.

But to open an Ashes series with a first ball wicket is still pretty good. For the Aussies.

Ok so Australia had lost 5 for 70 when I posted that, then 6 for 140. Travis Head helping get Australia a lead of between 200-250 would be good. Think will bat to middle of the second session tomorrow, unless bowled out sooner.
Decent first session this morning from England. A win may be a bridge to far but they can dig in here and make Australia work for it.

England 2 for 220 at stumps on Day 3, still 58 runs behind.

They’ve done well to not completely fall in a hole.

Last 4 Aus wickets for 199 I think? That's pretty pathetic from England.

Good batting display to take some the heat off, but we really are a one man team. Need Stokes to hopefully find a bit of form with the bat to take some of the heat off of Root. Think the problem is our openers are terrible, Burns has one good innings in a series which is not good enough.

Yeah I think you’re right, maybe I’m just being a tad optimistic or generous with the test at the moment.
