I can't remember if live streams are already included in the overnights or not, so it could be that the article have double counted some ratings. I feel like they probably have been when you consider the amount of people watching in clubs/pubs/outside events that aren't represented in the figures - I know it does feel like the whole country was watching but there's only so much higher the true figure can go!

Edit: This is a comment from the BBC article, not sure if "those who saw it via catch-up services" refers to live streams or specifically catch-up:

The official audience for Sunday's match may rise when those who saw it via catch-up services are taken into account.

I would say let's wait until BARB release the official figure but they'll probably give the average for the full programme i.e. including pre- and post-match.

I'm guessing the number quoted for streams is requests rather than average, which is always massively inflated compared with the final figure we see from Barb.

I think overnights include streaming via TV but not other devices as that takes longer to collate?

Yeah I was thinking that too re: requests rather than streams. Hopefully we do get an official average for the match itself, reported elsewhere in the media if not on the BARB most watched programmes of the week list.

A terrestrial audience of 1.6 million watched the opening game of The Hundred, making it the most watched women's cricket match ever televised on the BBC.

Oval Invincibles beat Manchester Originals at the Kia Oval on Wednesday.

In a game streamed live 180,000 times on iPlayer, Invincibles' captain Dane van Niekerk hit 56 not out, sealing victory with two balls remaining. The Originals had set the hosts a target of 136 to win.

Broadcast simultaneously on BBC Two and Sky Sports, the peak combined viewing figures of 1.95 million meant the game broke UK viewing records for women's cricket - surpassing the peak audience of 1.24 million who watched last week's England v India T20.

More than 3.8m people watched at least three minutes of the game across all channels and nearly 35% of the audience was female.

I can’t believe how much the BBC and Sky Sports are really hyping this Hundred rubbish. Hopefully it will flop on its arse :arrr:
But do we need it though? T20 is perfectly fine as it is and The Hundred just seems gimmicky in comparison.

soaps have really suffered from the euros haven’t they! Hollyoaks ratings are tragic as are east enders

Amazing for a last minute scheduling change! I think that match average is about double anything that Wimbledon achieved this year (Emma's R4 match also being the peak of Wimbledon iirc)
