I know. I'm getting to the point of 'past caring'. He's breaking touring records all over the world and his career is apparently over.

They ignorant morons seem to think the UK is the only bloody place on planet earth though <_< If he releasing something that sells even 1 copy less than his last than it is a flop in their eyes. He is currently doing the biggest tour EVER in Austrailia and with his so called 'flop' album has sold MILES more in 5 weeks than Justin, Christina etc etc sold outside the US, he is the King of Europe and no one is close to him even with his 'flop' album as the press put in.

He had the fastest selling tour in the UK last year and could easily do it again next year if he wanted to. :arrr:

I have had a big rant in the comments part after the article, but i ran out of the amount words they allow  Oh and I sweared so they most likely won't post it up

Seems a lot of Robbie fans have posted replies. But none of them has been added yet? Hmmmmm.

So true. Ok, so maybe he is on decline in the UK; no one can really deny that, but his success everywhere else is just ignored. One could really think the UK is the only place that counts for selling records. <_<

I also thought that the whole thing about "stealing devotion" and the TT fans living the dream through him was the most ridiculous and despicable thing to write. Makes it look like Rob's whole success of the last years was only based on the TT fans. Yeah, right. Mr. Morgan I suggest you go and check some figures, because it doesn't add up. When did TT ever sell over 2 mllion copies of an album for example ?

Rob has had tons of people buying his records and going to his gigs that had never been TT fans in the first place. :arrr: :arrr: :arrr:

And the whole "villain" - thing, don't get me started. It's just like Scotty says. Alright, so Rob hasn't been an angel but what has he ever done that would justify calling him a "villain" ?

Robbie Williams

Subiaco Oval, Perth, November 30. AAMI Stadium, Adelaide, tomorrow. Aussie Stadium, Sydney, December 9-10. Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, December 13-14. Bookings 132 849. Telstra Dome, Melbourne, December 17-18. Bookings 136 100. Tickets $99-$149.

THE opening night of the final leg of Robbie Williams's mega-successful Close Encounters tour supported the argument that he is the greatest performer of his generation.

It was not without its problems, however. At the back of the venue, people had to contend with video that was slightly out of synch with audio. Approximately 100m from the stage, we were relying on the massive and, it must be said, absolutely sharp screens, but the slight delay between sound and vision was a constant irritation. Up front, though, they looked like they were having the time of their lives.

It's hard not to love Williams. His banter was expletive heavy but always good natured, even when complaining about the weather, the cricket and the lack of girls at his hotel. He has a back catalogue with enough hits to fill a two-hour set, and it is difficult to recall a performer having as much fun on stage. He will do practically anything to ensure his audience is enjoying themselves, too.

This included calling his best friend Jonathan Wilkes to the stage, for what would be called a turn if it were occurring in your lounge room. They chased each other around, orchestrated a crowd singalong and even managed a rendition of the Bee Gees' Stayin' Alive. Such tomfoolery in the midst of technological innovation was a masterstroke, for it showed that Williams was not relying on the spectacle and would be just as entertaining should he come around to your place.

(Space does not permit discussion of the size of the set, but suffice to say that the way it dwarfed Subiaco Oval's northern stand signalled the beginning of a new scale of concert production.)

Despite complaining of jet lag and being rusty from five weeks off, Williams sang beautifully. Featuring only a couple of songs from his new album, Rudebox, he crammed in as many of his hits, including Rock DJ, Make Me Pure, Sin Sin Sin, She's the One and Let Me Entertain You, as would fit.

He also revisited his boy band days in Take That by trouncing a handful of their chart successes before offering a tender reading of Back for Good. Williams recognises a great song when he hears it, and knows how to share it with 40,000 friends.

There may be questions over whether the equipment can deliver a quality experience to all members of the audience, but there were none about the star.

WILLIAMS NO MATCH FOR JAMELIA

ROBBIE WILLIAMS' attempt to chat up British pop star JAMELIA ended in humiliating failure after the female singer thought his approach was "embarrassing" The SUPERSTAR singer was chatted up by Williams at the Brit Awards, but the ANGEL lothario, whose ex-girlfriends include ALL SAINTS member NICOLE APPLETON and model RACHEL HUNTER, failed to impress the pop star. She says, "I met Robbie at the Brits and he thought he was so smooth. He was telling me how beautiful I was and it was rather embarrassing. "I reckon as soon as I walked away he was saying exactly the same thing to the next woman who came along." 05/12/2006 02:06

Paul Kelso, journalist for TheGuardian believes Robbie is to open Wembley

"The Coke and Walkers deals come as Wembley confirmed its first event yesterday, a gig by Muse on June 16. There are also unconfirmed plans for a concert the week before, possibly by Robbie Williams. The FA is expected to confirm England friendlies against Brazil and possibly Germany, plus the FA Cup final, by February in the hope of shifting the remaining Club Wembley seats vital to the stadium's business plan"

Best not to get too excited, as it is only a rumour at this stage.

Guys, cross everything you can cross... B)

Paul McCartney and Robbie Williams Join Forces

British music superstars Paul McCartney and Robbie Williams have joined forces in a battle over the United Kingdom's copyright laws. At issue is the fact that under the British statute musical recordings expire after 50 years. The United States copyright law for music is 95 years and that is what artists in Britain want the law to be extended to. This would be a major blow to The Beatles as many of their first hits will expire starting in the year if 2012.

Pop stars to be lampooned in cartoons

By Paul Majendie

LONDON, Dec 7 (Reuters Life!) - The world's most famous pop stars are to be lampooned in a television cartoon after the success of a series of children's books mocking their celebrity lifestyles.

Author of the tongue-in-cheek tales is Peter Robinson, founder of the www.popjustice.com Web site that appeals as much to music industry insiders as it does to teenagers.

"They are aimed at all ages. They are written in a childlike way like the 'Mr Men' books but they are for adults as well as kids," he told Reuters.

"I particularly loved the idea of writing a book about Michael Jackson that you could read to children."

In "A Boy Called Michael" Robinson writes: "If you were to line up lots of pictures of Michael, you might think that he had changed himself lots to look different. You would be wrong to think that -- most of this has happened by itself!"

"In the book on Britney Spears, I said she should stop having babies and make another album. She is now doing that so I hope we played a small part," Robinson said.

He has now signed a deal to turn the slim volumes into an animated TV series.

Elton John is satirised for his shopping sprees and short temper. Recalling one of his outbursts about lip-synching at concerts, Robinson writes: "Once Sir Elton was very mean about a girl called Madonna.

"He said that Madonna should not make people pay to watch her pretend to sing songs. Elton was very angry about this. He was so angry his head almost fell off."

Feedback, as far as Robinson knows, has been positive.

"Robbie Williams was given a copy early on of the book about him. He really liked it and took it home," he said.

No collection of cautionary pop tales would be complete without the story of "A Boy Called Pete" about singer Pete Doherty, the self-confessed drug addict and on-again off-again boyfriend of supermodel Kate Moss.

"I didn't set out to make it moral but it's difficult not to see it as a good example of why you should not take drugs all the time," Robinson said.

As the book explains, Pete "likes to take lots of mind-bending Class A drugs. Unfortunately Class A drugs are not very good for you. They make you smelly and a bit untidy-looking."

Robbie tops poll of singers drivers listen to most

RE-FORMED pop band Take That have soared back into pole position when it comes to the favourite tunes motorists play on their car stereos.

Millions of drivers seem to be digging out their old Take That albums to play in the car.

The group's return to the limelight has catapulted them on to a list of Britons; 10 favourite bans or singers to play on a journey.

But they are still being left in the shade by former bandmate Robbie Williams.

His classic songs such as Angels, Rock DJ and Let Me Entertain You are UK drivers' favourite songs to sing along to in the car.

The UK's favour-ite driving music is revealed in a new survey from used car specialist CarGiant, which quizzed more than 500 drivers on what music they enjoyed playing in their cars this year.

Artists with albums released over the past couple of years fared well with Arctic Monkeys, Madonna, James Blunt and the Kaiser Chiefs all proving highly popular.

Drivers seem to be less keen on more established acts.

Madonna is the oldest artist to feature in the top 10, but the Beatles and the Rolling Stones failed to make the list.

And nearly one in 10 drivers prefer to listen to classical music on the move rather than pop CDs.

TOP TEN:

1 Robbie Williams

2 James Blunt

3 Kaiser Chiefs

4 Madonna

5 Arctic Monkeys

6 Oasis

7 Will Young

8 Sugababes

9 Take That

10 Girls Aloud

' Indie Stars The Fratellis were looking forward to playing Glasgow and Edinburgh on Hogmanay - until they heard ROBBIE WILLIAMS could turn up.

Robbie is expected to make an appearance with pals The Pet Shop Boys.

But Fratellis frontman Jon is now furious. He said 'I f*****g hope Robbie Williams doesn't turn up. There's so much better ways of spending your time than with that guy. I don't like his music and I'd probably take a swing at him.'

And then loads of Fratellis only stuff.....

Just thought you should know. :arrr:

Now why do Indie bands feel the need to constantly slag off more successful acts? Is it to make them feel all cutting edge and 'hard'? Instead it just makes them look like silly little immature boys.
