Gaga reveals album artwork for Born This Way ~ 16th April 2011

 

10 years ago, Gaga revealed the album cover for Born This Way. The cover was created by Nick Knight and the Haus of Gaga.

Going to go on record and say I really, really cannot stand the Born This Way standard album cover :/ the photoshoot that it comes from as it happens, is my favourite Gaga photoshoot EVER; Nick Knight and her made magic with those photos, but the fact they chose this as the cover is ridiculous. I get the message - she is the vehicle of change or whatever, but as an image, I can't take to it.

 

I use the deluxe cover wherever possible and I quite like that as it's striking and bold and so eye-catching. The bike though - no. Also the font on the standard is pretty woeful too, but the font on the deluxe is great.

The standard cover is bad, but it is also bold and fits the theme. My biggest complain is about the font, which is awful and makes the cover look like a joke.

 

I would like the cover better if the sublime alternative cover didn't exist.

On this day 10 years ago, Gaga made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Previous to this, Gaga called Ellen to wish her a happy birthday. During the phone call, she confirmed a future appearance, that was later confirmed would also feature a performance of 'Judas'. Have a look at the performance below:

Rewatched the performance and PHEW her vocals despite the song being CRAZED and the movement - her lungs must be made of STEEL I was out of breath just watching it :lol:

Gaga made a video appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011. She performed a short acoustic version of 'Born This Way' before breaking into 'You and I'! Have a look at the performance below:

Love that outfit! I'm not a fan of the acoustic version of BTW. She did that with a fan on artRAVE and it dragged. It's an anthem to the core, not a ballad.

I remember the hype around this ten years ago, such anticipation for this.
