I still love this record, love the video, and love the Spanish lyrics as I keep on doing YouTube Spanish lessons so if I ever get back there on holiday I won't be so useless like normal English-speakers who speak only English when abroad. Coazon Astral is dropping, but two collabs with Latin American acts climb fast into the 40, giving her 4 in the 40. Meteoros are an Argentine supergroup from Buenos Aires, and the indie style at 27 is pretty cool, while the lead singer Ale Sergi is also lead of the band Miranda! who enter at 25, with his distinctive falsetto vocals and theatrical & DJ bent, a big fan of Prince. VNV Nation leap to 22 from 69, When Is The Future is now, Barry Gibb gets a top 40 slot 49 years after he took it in with his brothers, and RAYE returns to the upper reaches. New entries include a second track on the chart for Foo Fighters, as Waiting On A War joins No Son Of Mine, Smith & Burrows borrowing Tom Petty's Free fallin' melody for a second consecutive chart entry, Deacon Blue return again to extend their career to a substantial 33 years, not bad for a band I wasn't a huge fan of when they debuted with Dignity and others, including the fab Real Gone Kid which almost re-entered last week. Talking of oldies, Buffy Saint-Marie brings her 1992 gem back fresh off the itunes chart, the always relevant The Big Ones Get Away, making two First World (aka Native) North Americans on the itunes chart last week with oldies - Redbone being the other. Sparks are back with a 6th track off the A Steady Drip Drip Drip album, and ahead of their film documentary showing why they have remained influential and future-looking for 50 years, and it's the song I will put on post-Covid whenever the family brings kids round to visit: "Put your f***ing iphone down". 47 years of chart entries and still got it. Imelda May is back, with Noel Gallagher in tow, and more impressively Ronnie Wood, who was having hits with the Faces 50 years ago in my personal charts. Kanye's Jesus Walks pops back, a reminder of when he was good and not quite so much up his own proverbial, and Murray Head is also selling on itunes, I know not why, but this track from 1975 is one I know and like a lot but didn't know I knew and didn't know was sung and written by the One Night In Bangkok/Superstar man. Still loving Ce Matin La, so gentle and heart-warming, really happy you entered it, it made me listen to it properly :yahoo: Buffy Saint-Marie popped up in the itunes sales chart for some reason - to be honest the lower 100 sales on the daily 200 are probably so low now that a Radio 2 play on Steve Wright is enough to give it a recordable boost, as do late night music TV shows on BBC4 and adverts. Probably a radio play reminding old fans how good it is, how relevant it still is and how little it's been played for 30 years. Buffy was the first First World North American to make a mark in pop music and should be revered for being ground-breaking and uncompromising :cheer: Thanks for the list! B-)
