Take That likely to remain top of both charts

Music Week

Take That look almost certain to remain atop the single and album charts next week, in the wake of last weekend’s prime-time An Audience With Take That TV broadcast.

The show, which pulled in 5.6m viewers on Saturday night, has sparked an upsurge in Take That material – single Patience is outperforming the market by 8%, while album Beautiful World is experiencing a 5% week-on-week sales increase and is comfortably heading the album chart.

Additionally, Never Forget – The Ultimate Collection (RCA) is on course for a return to the top 30 after a sales increase of 391% since last week, and downloads of their 1996 single Back For Good have propelled their 1996 single to within striking distance of the Top 40.

Elsewhere in the album chart, the Top 10 remains largely unchanged, with Westlife, Oasis, Il Divo and U2 making up the remainder of the top five behind Take That. Albums from Sugababes, Pink, James Morrison and The Fratellis are all making significant sales increases, while Gwen Stefani’s The Sweet Escape (Interscope) is the highest likely new entry just outside the Top 20.

Other new entries come from Andrea Bocelli (Sugar/UCJ), Mary J Blige (Geffen), Lil’ Chris (RCA) and Emma Bunton (19), with Babyshambles’ The Blinding EP, ineligible for the singles chart due to the amount of tracks included, currently at number 53.

Below Take That in the singles chart, Booty Luv are poised to rise to number two, with possible Top 10 entries from Morrissey (Attack/Sanctuary) and Lazy Town (GTV). Singles from Thunder (STC), Gwen Stefani (Interscope), Embrace (Independiente) and P Diddy feat. Christina Aguilera (Atlantic) are also on course for a Top 40 debut, with high risers coming from Jamelia (Parlophone), Scissor Sisters (Polydor) and Slade’s Merry Xmas Everybody (UMTV).

Me too

Think the album may climb to around six and the single around 15.

I think it's still Take That in both charts, though i think Il Divo and Oasis could catch them later in the week!!

I think no change at the top of both charts, although Il Divies are in with a chance as sales were so close last week.

The only definite new release to go top 10 is Jamelia I think...

I am interested into where Emma's album got to and how it is doing.

Unfortuantely I am not holding my breathe for anything too amazing...

Jamelia could be the highest climber in the singles top 10, but I don't think the top 3 changed.

has anyone bought the emma album? What's it like?

Hope it gets top 20 at least.

No MW report yet, we did not have one last week.

has anyone bought the emma album? What's it like?

Hope it gets top 20 at least.

I got it yesterday and really enjoy it actually.

Stand out track after first listen is; Take Me To Another Town.

Other good 'uns are Undress You, Perfect Strangers, Life In Mono and Mischievous.

Really hope it goes top 20 if noit higher but I have a horrible feeling it may have trouble getting top 40...

I bought Emma Bunton's album but wasnt too impressed on first listen. Alot of the tracks sound the same and were quite bland. Her last album was alot better.
rudebox mikey? any news on how its doing so far? cheers

I thought her last album had more stand out tracks [i.e. the singles] but the rest were fairly awful fillers [what was that duet...].

This album doesn't have the Maybe's etc but it stronger overall [in my opinion]

hope P Diddy n Chrstina & Gwen climb on downloads
I'd say second take that week... in albums and singles. In albums we will see again a Westlife Vs Oasis Fight, hope for Westlife but I place oasis for favourite.

Do we have any news on GA in both charts?! <_<

And Is Katie and Peter and Lil Chris downloads alone?!?!?!
