Posted December 5, 200618 yr My version of Grimly's large colection of vids. No.20-El Presidente-100MPH 0bSu4hWDgf4 This band obviously were going to feature more than once on my top 20 and thee is possibly no other song better to start my countdown than this! Released May 2nd 2005 on Two cd formats and A special limited amount of YELLOW (!) 7" vinyl. It was the bands first full release for Sony/BMG, and charted at No.37. Something still remainds a mystery though. No-one really kn ows who plays on it. Guitarest Johnny Mcglynn and Bassist Thomas Mcniece and Laura Marks joined November 2004, So this song Definately oesent Feature Them (But it does feature the drummer Dawn Zhu) Its also one of the only El Presidente songs with a guitar solo.
December 5, 200618 yr Author No.19-Scissor Sisters-Every Body Wants The Same Thing (Live at V Festival) PPc_xA3pNEA The only good american band apart from Anything asociated with prince. This song was one of the first tracks from Ta-Dah played live, this is a clip from V2005. Much slower than the actual album version and not as good, the vocals are too strong in this version.
December 5, 200618 yr Author No.18-Darkness-Black Shuck Uli63Xkcyg This is live at Brixton Academy in 2003 when they were easily the most populer rock band in england. A year what saw hot singles such as I Believe In A Thing Called Love and Christmas Time (Dont Let The Bells End) and the release of their Multi Platnum album "Permission To Land".
December 5, 200618 yr I'm sorry but the lead singer of El Presidente's voice grates on my ears so much, I can't bare to listen to it. Good video though. I'm SO SICK of the Scissor Sisters this year and both of their singles this year have been awful IMO. Shame as I liked them in 2004. I also despise The Darkness with an almighty passion.
December 5, 200618 yr Author No.17-Queen-Keep Yourself Alive 9Oo-J_ng2EA Queens first single EVER, from their 1st album released a week later, "Queen". Easily one of their best songs, queen must have thought this aswell, as it stayed in their live set untill 1985. Rememberd most for, as the "One with the drum solo". Thats most likely as to why they dropped it from their set, as Roger was now becoming old and couldnt do the solos. (In Fact he hadnt been doing the drum solo part since the Hot Space tour in 1981) This version has arguably got THE best drum solo ever. it starts around 2:15
December 5, 200618 yr Author No.16-Adam Ant-Vive Le Rock obXBhSraP3s 1985. Adam had once been the most populer, most loved teenage idol. But had all changed by 1985. After splitting from The Ants in 1982, he realeased two solo albums (1982's Friend Or Foe (Which Reached No.5 and 1983's Strip (Which only scrapped to No.20) The lead singe from strip was "Puss 'n' Boots", which charted at No.5, but the follow up single (The title Track "Strip") Was banned by The bbc and therefor only managed to chart at No.43. In late 1984 he released appolo 9 which reached No.13. In 1985 he was billed for live aid. But a few hours before hes performance, he was aproached by people in suits and told his set had been changed to one song. Rather than perform an old classic like "Antmusic" or "Stand And Deliver", he chose to plug hes new single, Vive le Rock. Hes out of breath performance was probably the reason it only reached No.50.....
December 5, 200618 yr I'm sorry but the lead singer of El Presidente's voice grates on my ears so much, I can't bare to listen to it. Lol imagine how I feel, I have to live with him and hear this EVERY day.
December 5, 200618 yr Lol imagine how I feel, I have to live with him and hear this EVERY day. You poor thing. :(
December 5, 200618 yr Author No.15-Ringo Starr-La Di Da 6R8KZstyeaE Ringos Big Come Back!!!! From the album Vertical man (Which also featured a duet track with Ozzy Osbourn) This song was hailed as his big comeback, but sadly it was knowhere near as succesfull as he thought it would be. In fact the record company decided not to release it!!!! It does feature Sir Paul on backing vox though!
December 5, 200618 yr Author No.14-The Upper Room-Black And White g49VWCxiOYM First heard of this band when i saw them supporting El Presidente in Feb in Aberdeen, and i wasnt really impressed. But then the next day when i was at home, i saw them on channel 457 (B4). The video was called "All over this town". I ended up buying it. Then in may they released this, its much better than All over.... although this performance is a bit iffy.... Watch him try and hot those high notes!!!
December 5, 200618 yr Author No.13-G.U.N-Crazy You cjpAawWPFJA G.U.N!!!!!!! 1997!!!!! T In The Park!!!!! Ha-Ha. Anyone who says this bands rubbish just watch those fans when the song starts. Watch them Jump to the catchy beat of the song. I fail to see anyone not like this song. It reached No.21 in 1997 and was followed by their last album to date. Strange how it dont show much of the guitarest, although he was slowly getting balder (Hes completely bald now) and i suspect he was embarresd. Either that or he was camera shy (But im with the first reason)
December 5, 200618 yr Author No.12-The Hives-A.K.A-I.D.I.O.T Xh_fVSBEgKA Good Bit of Drum Opening..! Arnt they Brilliant?? And isnt it amazing how theyve kept their record deal with a person who cant sing?? Although they are sweddish...So what do you expect?? Though ABBA were sweddish, and managed to knock out hot after hit (Volouz Vouz is my fav) Edited December 5, 200618 yr by ElPresRocket
December 5, 200618 yr Author No.11-Alan Partridge-ABBA Medley eiI5-c6GNz8 Classic!! I couldnt resist!
December 5, 200618 yr Author No.10-T.Rex-The Groover bAsDSFLeoJE T.Rex's last ever Top 10 single (Reached No.4 in 1973) It seemed a turning point in their history. Early next year they would loose their first member, Drummer Bill Legend. Two Backing vocalists had been added to the ever growing line up. By 1974 their line up Was: Singer/Lead Guitar, Bassist, Drummer, Drummer, Guitar, Bongos/Congas, Backing Vox, Backing Vox, Keyboards. Some say this was the end of T.Rex, but i say this was the beggining. The next few albums, were, in my eyes, The bext t.rex albums ever made. But alas, many did not agree and as T.rex sliped in and out of Obscureity (With the oddd hot single here and there) they would never be this populer again
December 5, 200618 yr Author No.9-John Lennon and The Plastic Ono Band-Power To The People Wos-dDxpJlQ Another Top ten single, This was released shortly after The Beatles had disbanded. (Many were unhappy with them splitting, and blamed Yoko, but i would of been happy. As instead of one Beatles album per year, youd now get Four solo albums) This is my fav john lennon single (Apart From Mind Games, Starting Over, Nobody Told Me, No.9 Dream, Instant Karma and others)
December 5, 200618 yr Author No.8-Hard-Fi-Living For The Weekend SV-RRd_nxJg (I settled on this semi live performance ( Well, I think its semi live, it might be fully live) Released back in September '05, although in my eyes would have suited august much better as its a very summery song and was always played as the opening titles song to all the big festivals. More "Ive Got no money, No home, no friends" lyrics. The storylines for Hard-Fis songs are usually the girlfriends pregnent and hes lost hes job, but he wants to go and party. The song was recorded in a Ex-Taxi Office
December 5, 200618 yr Adam Ant, John Lennon, T-Rex, Queen.....? Surely some of this is 'retro' mate.... I'm not sure of its relevance to an Indie Rock kinda thing..... I'm sure Cassidy will probably question you on this as well.... I'm not saying it's not an enjoyable little journey you're on here (even if I dont really like very much of it..), but I think relevance is a key word here... It seems kinda...random as well....
