I'm not too concerned about Iceland or Malta potentially having to host as who knows if we're back to 'normal' by then? Things could still be at reduced capacity, but even if we're lucky enough to be back to a pre-Covid world, I'm sure whatever venue they could come up with would be able to welcome more fans than Tel Aviv's conference centre

I'd be kinda annoyed if Italy manages to win tbh. Just cos I still don't 'get' this song, and they were big favourites with both Mahmood and Francesco and I LOVED those entries, so if they were gonna win, I'd rather it have happened with one of them :( Iceland is probably the one that I'm having the easiest time seeing as the winner now, if they get a comfortable televote win I don't think the juries will have them low enough to not be the overall victors. I don't think it's new news that I find Daði annoying, but I do rather like what I've seen of the staging and I think it's an entry that will stand out massively.

Hope Rob is right about Cyprus. Fully expecting her to not quite match Fuego but do better than Replay.

Iceland and Malta are the two main contenders that I think have the potential to do top 3/5 on both the jury and televote which is why they're probably the two leading ones for me at the moment. And I will add Bulgaria into that mix as well based on how well their rehearsal has gone down! France/Switzerland I can see struggling on the televote and Italy feels like the juries might only put it about 7th or 8th which puts too much of a handbreak on it like Grande Amore in 2015.

Ooh yeah Bulgaria too, getting winner vibes now we've seen her rehearsal.

I'm happy with any of the wide open contenders bar Iceland, I'd be so put out if we had such a wide open year and one of my least favourite songs won, I just don't get it or him at all, I think I like this less than Think About Things in fact.

Maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself because it's my favourite song and I *love* her, but I really see Cyprus killing the televote too. I'm praying she can upset a few of the favourites and pull a top 5.

I think so too, I kinda thought she could be anything from that one modern pop song that comes like 19th up to a solid top 10 but the rehearsal has convinced me on the latter!

I'd be obviously very happy with Iceland winning were it to happen :P and if it does happen and any of you make your way here to this little rock make sure to hit me up and I'll show you around! That said I'm not holding out too much hope but I can see it happening if the stars align just right!

Switzerland feels like it could work for both viewers and the juries and I can easily see it being a runaway winner. It could also, like some have said, battle for the supposed "french vote" and maybe both could fall short for that reason? Right now we have four songs in the predicted top 10 mostly or fully in another language than English (France, Italy, Switzerland and Ukraine) which has happened before but it's quite rare in the modern era. In the past 10 contests it's only happened twice that there were two (or more) songs in another language in the Top 5. 2016 which had Ukraine and Bulgaria although both were mainly in English and in 2012 we had Russia, Serbia and Albania all in the top 5.

2019 - 2 songs (Italy 2nd, Iceland 10th)

2018 - 2 songs (Italy 5th, Estonia 8th)

2017 - 3 songs (Portugal 1st, Italy 6th, Hungary 8th)

2016 - 3 songs (*Ukraine 1st, *Bulgaria 4th, **France 6th)

2015 - 1 song (Italy 3rd)

2014 - 1 song (*Spain 10th)

2013 - 0 songs

2012 - 6 songs (**Russia 2nd, Serbia 3rd, Albania 5th, Estonia 6th, *Italy 9th, Spain 10th)

2011 - 3 songs (**Italy 2nd, *Bosnia & Herzegovina 6th, *Greece 7th)

2010 - 1 song (**Greece 8th)

* These songs were mainly in English but partially in another language.

My Preditcted Top 10

1. Switzerland

2. Malta

3. France

4. Iceland

5. Cyprus

6. Italy

7. Ukraine

8. Lithuania

9. Russia

10. Finland

I could also see San Marino, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Greece or even Romania sneaking in at the low end. I’m kind of hoping Israel pulls off a show-stopper (which Eden has every capability to do) and becomes an unexpected success.

Iceland and Poland delegates have tested positive for Covid so I'm assuming they will now submit a video performance. Hugely disappointing for them with it been so close to the final, fingers crossed no other delegations test positive now.

Only one member of each delegation were positive, they have been isolated from everyone else who have been consistently testing negative. The EBU have said they will be tested again tomorrow and if negative the artists will be allowed to enter the Ahoy Arena.

Fingers crossed they all test negative so everyone can enjoy their experience.

Additionally all of Gagnamagnið are vaccinated so since they tested negative yesterday I'm hopeful that they will still be negative tomorrow! The person who tested positive wasn't part of the act that will be on stage.

My bad that should have read test negative which i have now edited, i would never wish a positive result on anyone.

So in my habbit of having the very spot on go hand in hand with the complete missfire, I feel like I was one of the few bigging up France's potential on here but I really don't think I saw Italy as a major contender at all!
