17. august [Avg. 9.21]

A fan favorite from folklore drops out of the rank in this spot. august is described as a "dream pop/guitar pop ballad." About the song: "august constitutes a fictitious love triangle involving three characters: Betty, James, and an unnamed female. The song is written from the latter's perspective, depicting her sorrow over her derailed summer romance with James, who abandoned her and reconciled with Betty. Taylor personally calls the unnamed narrator "Augustine" or "Augusta"."
It received two 11s (Jay, John-James), six 10s (Cremey, DionTheSats123, Doug, Jade, Klumzee, Ultra), some 9s, lowest score is a 6.5 (Dexton).
I loved watching that video - so cool! Really brought the song alive for me much more than it ever had before. I need to see Taylor alive again soon.

16. Out of the Woods [Avg. 9.24]

Leaving here is a personal favorite of mine from 1989. It's the sixth single from the album. Out of the Woods is a synth-pop song with a sound heavily influenced by the 80s. Taylor explained that the lyrics were inspired by one of the real life relationships of hers that evoked constant anxiety. "Every day was a struggle." It received four 11s (Jade, MrAndrewMan, Qween, Tafty) and seven 10s! (Cremey, DionTheSats123, Jay, John-James, Nina West, me, Ultra)

OOTW

One of her best for sure!

I do like this song obvs but I’ve never quite fully understood the massive love / how this has been such a huge fan favourite for so long. Just think she’s got so many better songs. In saying that though, I do enjoy listening to it.

Getaway Car[Avg. 9.26]

At #15 we have another a fan favourite: Getaway Car. It’s surprising that this wasn’t chosen to be a single considering - IMO - it is one of the highlights from Reputation (although it was released as a single in Australia and New Zealand).

“Getaway Car appears to be about the end of a short-lived, Bonnie and Clyde-esque love story, with lyrics like, "We were cursed / We never had a shotgun shot in the dark." Of Swift's many publicized relationships, there are a few relatively short ones that stand out as potential "Getaway Car" inspiration: Harry Styles and Tom Hiddleston. But looking more closely at the timeline of their relationships and Swift's previous work, the odds heavily lean toward Hiddleston as the subject of Getaway Car.”

Whatever or whoever this song is about, it’s a banger and well deserving of a top 15 placing ! Yay ! This song scored a couple of 11s from Tafty & Nina West and 10(!!!) 10s from Ultra, MrAndrewMan, me, Klumzee, Joseph Styles, Jktoon, Jade, Doug, DionTheSats123 & Cremey. It had a couple of low scores of a 7 from Ready For It And Dexton. A very consistent showing. This means that only one song from Reputation remains (Delicate) How high will it be?

Your top 14:

Back to December

Blank Space

Cardigan

Cruel Summer

Delicate

Enchanted

Exile (ft. Bon Iver)

I Knew You Were Trouble

Love Story

Red

Style

Wildest Dreams

Willow

You Belong With Me

Predict which 4 of these 14 songs are going to leave next? / Which songs do you think are going to make the top 10?

Getaway Car is incredible. If we were doing this now I'd probably give it an 11 :cheeseblock:

Hoping cardigan makes the top 10! Happy to see that, willow & exile still in <3

august is fab tho maybe a tiny bit too high, Getaway Car & Out of the Woods are both timeless classics and are two of the songs I go back to the most in Taylor's discography  V. fitting they're next to each other as well with the iconic dramatic bridges *.* The OOTW bridge is one of her best moments ever and the video is also underrated af & incredible <3

14. Back to December [Avg. 9.28]

Here at this spot, we have a song from Speak Now, the second single. Back to December is described as "an orchestral country pop ballad." Its lyrics are a remorseful plea for forgiveness for breaking up with a former lover. According to Taylor, the song is the first time she ever apologizes to someone in that way. It received two 11s (JosephStyles, Riser) and five 10s (Among Haus, DionTheSats123, Nina West, Qween, me) The lowest score given is a 6 (Ho-Lee Smokes).
Gotta say I'm quite surprised this made it this high but it's a beautiful song <3
