Hello again sorry for the delay, busy things to do you know.

Anyway here it is, above are the final 20 songs in all their glory from the past 11 or so months.

Now the rules are the same as they are every year. JUST VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE DANCE TRACK ABOVE.

This is the first round so the 2 lowest scoring songs will be eliminated immediately meaning we have 18 tracks left. Here how the rest of the rounds line up

Round 2: 18 down to 15

Round 3: 15 down to 12

Round 4: 12 down to 10

Round 5: 10 down to 7

Finally, Round 6: 7 down to 5

Then with the final 5, a final round of voting to determine which track is the DANCE RECORD OF THE YEAR 2006 and I can tell I'm looking foward to this year's final as it's going to be a close one in my opinion.

With 5 no.1's up there and 3 top 3 hits in my opinion it has been an improving year for dance from last year.

So enough talk from me, LET THE FINAL BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please start voting. You have 1-3 days to vote and the voting this time could close unexpectedly so get in your vote asap.

Happy voting,

TAW

p.s. A tough choice for the first round but to ensure it gets through I vote for Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit, a very worthy track from Data. Well Done!

Didn't think Justin Timberlake, Scissor Sisters, and Robbie Williams are dance records but fair dos

I'll vote for Justin Timberlake then, ledge song

Babs - Most Precious Love

A shed-load of great tracks I think, this year has been pretty god all in all. Some of it tat though (Bob Sinclar, Hi-Tack etc...)

that list is a joke, right? Sunblock? Are you for real? No DJ worth his salt would play that abortion..... sorry, this ISN'T the list of the Dance Records of the Year by any shape or form.....

Well I'm sorry but if you don't like the list then you don't have to vote but this is the list compiled THROUGHOUT THE YEAR from votes in all 5 category areas (just like this month was which BUZZJACK participated in).

If you don't like it then go elsewhere but don't ruin this final.

This is the 7th final that is being done since this competition started in 2000 and we've had no complaints about any of the tracks in the final.

Agreed some of the tracks are weird (scissor sisters, Robbie Williams, etc) but the panel as I told you before and all the voted from people have decided it and there's no way of changing it. The reason those tracks are in is because if there's a decent remix done of the track:

eg: Kurd Maverich on Robbie Williams, Paper Faces on Scissor Sisters, Armand Van Helden on Justin Timberlake.

Then it counts as a dance track. That is the rule that is given because the track would be recognised in the clubs by that remix done.

Anyway, if you have problem you don't need to vote but there are other forums (which I don't know about) which are involved in voting and since 2000 there has only been 1 major complaint.

So this competition seems to be working very well to people's liking.

Thanks for the votes so far keep it going,

TAW

I'll re-ask the question, then - WHO makes up this 'panel' because, as I stated, NO DJ worth his salt, and I used to be one myself, would play 80% of the records on that list, regardless of remixes by dance producers.

Well I'm sorry I don't know who exactly is this panel.

But it's made up of 7-10 judges who decide from all international dance tracks (mainly Europe and the UK) for each month which are out.

The panel was originally DMC (supposedly) and it's now supposedly handled by the ADM (Australian dance music industry or something over here).

That is all I know, I'm just as puzzled as you are who this new panel are.

Look mate, if you don't like what's going on with this competition. If you think it's fake, mythical or something then don't vote but there are plenty of others who have been voting for these tracks.

The panel only decides the final 5, the rest is done to each of the 5 areas (see the november DROTY result for those areas).

Congratulations. 20 tracks and not one that I could ever bring myself to vote for.

These so-called "Judges" and their baffling/idiotic (delete as appropriate) decisions are pretty much on of the reasons why I just cant bring myself to actually be into the Dance/Techno scene much anymore. The Chemical Brothers and Underworld have done remixes in the past for the likes of Primal Scream; and Aphex Twin has remixed Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson tracks too, I've yet to see any of these acts be the subject of a poll such as this.

A bit of common sense should come into this surely.... If Madonna decided to work with Trent Reznor or Rick Rubin on her next album, would she suddenly be tipped for "Best Metal/Alternative Act" in some rock magazine...?

Cant you secretly add Chicane & Tom Jones

I happen to partially agree with Russt etc here, I would say about half of those tracks don't deserve to be there but love them of loathe them, Fedde Le Grand etc is the undisputed dance anthem of this year (and it's by no means my personal fave track of this year).

But Sunblock? Robbie Williams?? Eeech!!

Cant you secretly add Chicane & Tom Jones

Chicane and Oakenfold's tracks were THE songs of the summer too :(

I voted for Babs Tucker - most precious love. Probably the only decent dance tune on there.

As for Justin and Robbie, what fools voted for them

We may as well have Chico, The Macdonald Brothers, Shayne Ward, Westlife and Mcfly in the poll.

Rogue Traders and Cascada are my favourite dance tracks of the year (and the two that the year will be remembered for no doubt) but neither are in the list so I've voted for Sorry by Madonna...

WHY aren't Cascada/Rogue Traders in there?

...Fedde.

That Cascada trackis hands down the worst song of the year - from any genre - the last song to get on my t*ts that much was that awful Special D song.
