I saw this video the other week and it got me thinking that there's quite the collection of Eurovision songs that never got to actually take part (after 2010 it is basically Belarus and Ukraine with occasional appearances from other countries) and it's quite the rogues gallery of rule breakers! Are there any highlights from this collection of withdrawn songs that could have been real moments on stage/got a decent finishing position?

I suspect Per Sempre could have been really quite big for Italy too in 2012, maybe 4th or 5th.
"We Don't Wanna Put In" and "Flame is Burning" are my highlights, the former especially would be up there as one of Georgia's best entries and if anything, I think it should've been their entire 2016-2019 run that was disqualified for crimes against music. :kink:

I did like L’amore è femmina but it's an absolute crime Per Sempre never got to go to Eurovision instead </3

Also, not related to the topic as such but Emma's song Non è l'inferno (the winner of Sanremo in 2012) would have been a much better entry than La mia citta two years later.

It seems incredibly naive of the EBU looking back that they thought Lebanon and Israel could take part in the same contest together.
