Uhsting's Top 50

More graphical version of my chart can be found on Crownnote: http://crownnote.com/charts/uhsting/uhstin...op-50-songs-101

Chart commentary: This week is still relatively active with 12 new entries and 2 re-entries. Rubies is the highest new entry this week that has a special sound to it. The energy is amazing and I love the melody in the chorus too. There are some relatively known artists such as Orla Gartland, Cash Cash, Phoebe Ryan, Nevve, Thomas Gold featuring this week. Lilith Czar is back with Anarchy after an anthemic King. Wrapping up the new entries we have a Monstercat label release Can't Say, which is a great EDM track.

Summer Don't Go finally reaches no. 1 after appearing in the top 10 for 6 weeks. This is followed by Tout l'univers, who has not fallen out of top 5 since its debut. New entry last week Sabotage by Bebe Rexha enters top 5, while another song of the same name by Lxandra enters top 10. Lighthouse records the biggest jump this week by 30 positions to no. 15, with a heartfelt ballad.

:gold2: Noirêve ft. Giulia Foddai - Summer Don't Go

Finally after 6 weeks, this song achieved the first place to deny Tout l'univers its 2nc week at no. 1, after being placed last on my playlist while going through all the songs in full to make this week's chart. I am very mesmerized by the instrumentation of this song and the buildup catches my attention with a good release as well.

Chart history: 10-3-7-10-4-1

 2. Gjon’s Tears – Tout l’univers

This song is in the chart for 7 weeks already and there is no sign of this dropping out of the chart this week, and it amazingly retains the top 5 spot with the lowest position of this song so far being no. 4. Sadly, if not for the song at no. 1, this song might have re-captured the top spot once again. Can this song stay in the chart until the Eurovision week? We will find out soon!

Chart history: 4-3-2-1-3-3-2

:ne: 3. Elliot Lee – Rubies

I am very glad that I stumbled upon this song after not appearing in any NMF playlists. I think Spotify seriously needs a much better version of the NMF in the USA, as it seems to miss a lot of niche songs from that region. This song sounds very unique and modern, and it is about "the dangers of trying to change yourself just to fit in". Unfortunately, this was a song written for a movie but was rejected.

Chart history: 3

 4. Bebe Rexha – Sabotage

Sabotage is a heartfelt ballad that is about self-sabotage and how yourself can be your worst enemy. This vulnerable feeling is certainly demonstrated in both the lyrics and the music, and the melody in the chorus is memorable too. I hope this song will further rise up the chart soon.

Chart history: 8-4

 5. Shalisa – Karma

After steamed its way up to no. 2, this song unfortunately is not able to break into no. 1 spot this week. This is still a strong banger packed in such a short amount of time and maybe next week it can get higher.

Chart history: 30-12-9-2-5

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 6. Daughtry – Heavy Is The Crown (25-20-13-6)

This rock is climbing the chart fast and is now in the top 10 for the first time. It is an emotional rock song and it is loud.

 7. Lxandra – Sabotage (21-7)

The second Sabotage in the top 10, this song is a great composition by Lxandra once again. This song is quite similar to Bebe Rexha's but a bit more subdued. I enjoyed both songs and I encourage you to listen to this song as well!

 8. Promis3 – Future Funeral (2-1-8)

Dropping 7 places is Future Funeral, this is still doing very strong with the special instrumentation and arrangement.

:right: 9. Caroline Culver – Walking On Glass (34-24-9-9)

Staying at the no. 9 spot is Walking On Glass. This heartfelt song is memorable in its melody and deserves another week in top 10.

 10. Loi – I Follow (33-22-15-10)

I Follow is the last song in the top 10. Apart from the song's message, the music video talks about breaking down gender stereotypes and acceptance of different gender expression, which juxtaposes with the lyrics well. This is a strong debut single from Loi and I wish all the best for her music career!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 11. Lil Nas X – MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) (47-13-1-7-11)

 12. Kyns – I can never be (26-18-21-11-8-4-5-12)

 13. Zayde Wølf – Holy Water (32-17-13)

 14. Tommy Fredvang – Ett sekund (43-14)

This has jumped 29 positions with an emphatic ending that is heartwarming. I really enjoy this Norwegian ballad!

 15. Vaarin – Lighthouse (45-15)

Another heart-wrenching ballad which is slow but packs with memorable melody and instrumentation.

 16. SYML – DIM (24-16)

 17. Salem ilese – (L)only Child (39-15-10-5-6-17)

 18. Andrea Di Giovanni – Crown (32-26-11-18)

 19. Alice Merton – Vertigo (50-22-19)

 20. Orjan Nilsen – Hold Me (29-20)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 21. Gunn Kvaale – Cold (46-21)

Jumping massively is not just ballads but also this banger as well. The chorus is memorable and that is what it needs!

 22. Primo – Do It Again (27-32-20-11-6-10-22)

 23. ILON – tobacco (38-23)

 24. Luz – Counting Houses (49-49-24)

I really like Luz's song last year and she had a change in artistic direction in the last few songs which has a more calm sounding and I really enjoy this song as well.

 25. Jan-Marten Block – Never Not Try (27-25)

 26. Baby Queen – Dover Beach (36-26)

 27. Escape the Fate – Lightning Strike (19-27)

:ne: 28. Orla Gartland – Zombie! (28)

Orla Gartland always comes across as light-hearted and this song is no exception with a memorable hook. I hope this banger will gain height in the next few weeks.

:ne: 29. Ana Golja – Glass (29)

 30. Tessa Violet, lovelytheband – Games (33-30)

:ne: 31. Cash Cash ft. Phoebe Ryan – Ride or Die (31)

 32. Nohanna – Äidinäidin raivolla (21-35-32)

 33. Imagine Dragons – Follow You (44-37-33)

:ne: 34. Maggie Szabo – My Oh My (34)

 35. Knappe – Tschau (18-35)

:ne: 36. Lilith Czar – Anarchy (36)

 37. Mimi Webb – Good Without (37-35-48-37)

:ne: 38. GRY, Nevve, Thomas Gold – Now Or Never (38)

Now this is a good song from Spinnin' Records! This big room track has a good buildup and the drop features a memorable melody which is unlike the melody during the buildup.

:ne: 39. Michael Amani, Manuals, Jaimes – Love You Later (39)

:ne: 40. AVIAN GRAYS – Crying ‘Bout You (40)

:ne: 41. Elkin – Tuesday (41)

:re: 42. Pinkiscool – Plastic (33-XX-42)

 43. Neoni – Where We Rise (42-43)

 44. Mariya Chaykovskaya – Лодочка (26-44)

 45. Loney Dear – Mute / All things pass (23-18-41-45)

:ne: 46. KUURO, Syon – Can’t Say (46)

:ne: 47. Dizzy ft. Luna Li – The Bird Behind The Drapes (47)

This stripped-back song is very beautiful and relaxing. I enjoy the arrangement with the strings which adds a lot to its beauty.

 48. Jaguar Jonze – TESSELLATIONS (28-48)

 49. Weyes Blood – Titanic Risen (44-49)

:re: 50. Ginevra Nervi – Gaslighting (46-XX-50)

Hi Ken! ABDA is getting my attention but it has yet to warm up for me. Hopefully, his amazing vocals will prove me wrong in the next couple of week! :P EDM is always doing much better as it approaches summer for me -- perhaps it's related to my mood?

Hi James! I still quite like MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) so I don't think it will drop out of the chart next week, but his next single has got be unabashedly himself (I heard he is going to perform his new single somewhere??).

Hi John! It is quite moody as I have always been like that in the past couple of months :P I think my top 10 is desperately looking for bangers soon but ballads always hit me real good :P I think you will enjoy this year's Eurovision as I think it is one of the strongest years in a while. Mimi Webb is getting some good attention, though Good Without doesn't sound like the hit for me (I prefer her I'll Break My Heart Again though) Hopefully you will enjoy most of the songs from my list!

Hey uhsting! :hi:

Is that ABDA I see? What is its peak in your chart? :o

I need to give that new Bebe Rexha song a listen too but I’m still enjoying Sacrifice for now. :P

Thank you for sharing your personal chart this week, and if you want to view my current one, here is the link;

Until next time!

Hey Wardy! Yes you saw ABDA there! It debutted under top 50 this week so chances are it can grow on me in the next few weeks! Sabotage is quite a different song from her but I hope you enjoy it. :P

Thanks all for the comments!

Gjon's Tears is still doing strong! I'm very excited for his first rehearsal. Hopefully, he will pull off with a stunning staging! Good Without is not Mimi Webb's strongest song but still pretty strong for me. Hopefully it will still grow! Did not expect anyone to know about Mathieu Koss though :o

Hi Uhsting :) ,

Not long now till the first Eurovision semi!

I like that SYML track, and good to see Imagine Dragons up to a new peak, and LP hanging in there. The vast majority I dont know sadly, though Alice Merton has been hot on the BJSC postings board I see. Must listen to it! Mostly though I'm looking forward to charting some Eurovision songs next week! :cheer:

TBC next week
