In demand ... Robbie Williams

THOUSANDS of angry Robbie Williams fans are demanding to know why they missed out on tickets to his Sydney and Melbourne shows.

More than 100,000 tickets were sold within 30 minutes for Williams's first Australian concert tour in five years.

Concert promoter Michael Chugg told Seven's Sunrise concertgoers are facing an uphill battle because scalpers resell tickets on auction website eBay.

"These people are now joining fanclubs so they can scalp tickets," Mr Chugg said.

"Unless they publish ticket details on eBay, you've got no hope of finding out who has the ticket and that's the problem," he said.

Tickets for Robbie's Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane shows go on sale this morning.

Be an angel – plea to Robbie

HE wants to entertain you, and Robbie Williams' instant sell-out show has got promoters entertaining the idea of a second Melbourne performance.

Yesterday, tickets to the UK performer's Telstra Dome show sold out in 25 minutes.

But the 60,000 seats won't hold all of Melbourne's Robbie fans, and promoter Michael Chugg knows it.

"We're discussing it with Robbie himself, and we should know if he's keen for a second show within the next couple of days," Mr Chugg said.

"Last time Robbie was here he sold out Telstra Dome, but we didn't need a second show.

"Obviously his reputation as an unbelievable live performer is growing."

The December 17 Melbourne show is the last on Williams' Close Encounters tour, with the performer planning a break after it is over.

THERE are sure to be some bleary eyes around Adelaide today.

Tickets to Robbie Williams' December 5 concert become available from 9am and we bet half of Adelaide was lining up from the wee hours to get their hands on them.

Committed fan and Campbelltown mother of six Lindy Draper camped out in her sleeping bag at Ticketek on Greenhill Rd with friends from 12.30am.

"It's something I haven't done for 20 years," she reminisces.

Robbie Williams is gearing up for his UK tour dates that kick of in Dublin tomorrow night.

The excitable singer said to the Daily Star: “I’m never normally excited about going on tour but this going to be absolutely amazing. The band are sounding fantastic.

“The set looks unbelievable. I can’t believe how excited I am and I really like all the songs which is handy.â€

However, there is one place the Robbie would rather be…

He added: “If I could choose I’d play football for the masses rather then be a musician, no two ways about it.

“The world cup is the ultimate stage after all.â€

I’d stick to the performing Rob…

Get close up and personal with Robbie

T-Mobile in association with Sony Ericsson have announced plans for using mobile music innovations to provide unique access and bring fans closer to the European Robbie Williams Close Encounters Tour 2006.

Mobile phones will be as good as tickets for an all-access pass to behind-the-scenes tour action, must-have mobile music content and an exciting way to be apart of the biggest European tour ever.

As part of its 18-month partnership with Robbie Williams, T-Mobile is the head sponsor of his Close Encounters Tour 2006 in Europe.

The Tour, which broke a Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest and largest number of concert tickets sold in one day, will stop in five of T-Mobile’s markets for 29 shows.

Innovative Mobile Experience

Shows from the Tour will be video live-streamed in its entirety to UMTS enabled handsets giving fans a chance to see the show live from the comfort of any location.

Tour TV, a new and separate channel within T-Mobile’s MobileTV service, will deliver behind-the-scenes experience from all shows. Updated regularly, the content will include concert footage and a view from backstage.

Special Edition Phone

The Robbie Williams edition of the Sony Ericsson W300 Walkman® phone, unveiled in April, will be available in stores mid-June to coincide with the tour. This special edition, exclusive to T-Mobile, features a first-ever, start-to-finish experience of a music artist incorporating phone functionality, themed animation, mobile music content with Robbie Williams’ own creative influence on the phone design.

The phone comes with pre-installed mobile content recorded at the Tour kick-off show in Durban, South Africa in April including a live version of the opening song ‘Radio’, a behind-the-scenes video clip and six wallpapers. Fans will also have direct access to the WAP site of RobbieWilliams.com with a special icon and will see a Robbie Williams animation when they start up and shut down the handset.

Special Sony Ericsson promotions will also provide fans with a chance to try out the new Robbie Williams edition of the W300 Walkman® phone and receive a voucher for a special Close Encounters Tour 2006 ‘skin’ for the device.

With exciting and unique on-ground activities at each concert as well as mobile music content from the Tour and exclusive prizes such a soundcheck and meet and greet opportunities, T-Mobile aims to engage thoroughly entertain the nearly 2 million fans attending the shows.

“Partnering with T-Mobile gives my fans a new way to experience the tour through their mobiles – it’s very exciting,†said Robbie Williams.

4,015,676 (1.1 million in Dublin) ireland is only a tiny place in the country stakes. :D

Germany's population is 82,431,390

How come you're not at the concert jupiter9? couldn't you get a ticket? :(

To be honest I didnt even try for a ticket. I was quite happy going to Hampden in September.

But then as the time gets close I'm very envious of all those going to see him tomorrow. :arrr:

( Still, I have the World Cup opening match to watch... :cheer: )
