So what was yall reaction when you first heard the song and saw the video??

my first reaction was:

damn that new blonde babe really knows how to work her body

and i was just shocked to see her move like that because i think

that was kinda fresh new and different from a new female pop artist in 2001

there was no other female pop artist like her in 2001 but im not saying shakirai

"Invented" belly dancing or whaterver you call it but that just grabbed lots

of peoples attention first and her the song 2nd and plus she was a new artist fr

everybody except for the latin america market where she's been famous for years.

I remember the first time I ever seen the WW video! I was ill and when it come on I thought 'wow this is a pretty cool song, but I cant tell whether it's Britney or Christina'
At first i thought meh who is she and then i realised that she was different to what was around... i loved everything she did but then she disappeared and only last year i found out about her past etc and found a true love for her ^_^
at first i was like  :o wow shakira got hotter and then i was so exited to know what was going to be the reaction of the world towards her ^_^ and it turned out Excelent
a few things grabbed me the production the beat, guitar and the pan pipes i thought omg i love this earthy sound i haven't heard this fusion before, the catchy chorus and eccentric lyrics i knew right away she was nothing like britney, xtina or jlo
i loved it i remember it reallysyated in my head as it was a good pop record but so differemnt to what was around,i still love the song

I saw it and I thought "Britney's voice sounds weird" Then I realised... I also thought she was scandanavian at first with all the blond hair and yodelling  I couldn't have been more wrong about Shakira when I first saw her!

Whenever Wherever was class and I bloody loved it but it was Underneath Your Clothes which turned me into a fan.

also i remember thinking why release the single the same weel as the pop idol winner at the time will young, shakira sold something 120,000 in her first week whichg would in any other week been a huge number 1
I first heard the song in Lebanon in Dec. 2001 and vaguely liked it but I didn't know anything bout her. Then I saw her perorming it on cd uk and thought it was pretty darn good. I got obsessed with the song and looked her up on the web and found out she was half lebanese, same as me, so I became addicted to her. I was so pissed that she released the same week as will young cos she so deserved the no. 1.

i didnt understand c**p she was saying..........

i loved the lyrics

As soon as I heard "humble breasts" and "mountains" I knew this would be a classic

The frist time i heard it,i fell in luv wit the song

i didnt know who sang the song, but i just used to love untill oenday i went on the net and check for it and i saw this gurl call "shakira" and she sang it,so i just used to like shakira from that song.

The same thing I thought when I heard Anastacia - Im Outta Love!

"WOW I LOOOOOOOOOVE her voice, it's so different  "

i remember hearing her name for the first time "shakira" i thought hmmm exotic name where is she from? and the video when she rises up from the ocean i guess it a metaphor she under the surface she existed before but only in the latin world but then bam!! she makes a great entrance she rises on to new land to crossover and conquer the whole world plus the real bellydancing moves in the video proper bellydancing the way she feels her music in her hips, its so true her hips don't lie at all!!
I remember when she appeared on that tv show on Nickelodeon, I cant remember what it was called, but she has a hispanic girl who wanted to sing, and she was teaching her to bellydance

it was called taina, heres her cameo performance... look at how she can swing her hips to incredible angles :o :cheer:
